Happy Birthday

I don't often finish the insides of my cards until I send them out. Today was different. I have someone that this card is going to so knew I needed to finish it up. This is some new paper that is a fall and holiday collection - hard to believe that!!! Looks rather springy to me! But, I do like it. It is a rather odd size pad of paper but it is for photo mats. It works for me since I usually cut everything up anyways. It is by Cloud9Designs. The floral stamp is Inkadinkado and the sentiment is Stampabilities. The inside of the card is a Dee Gruenig stamp. Don't you just love the butterflies on the side...it's a Martha Stewart punch! Have a great day!

Christmas Ornament and Card

I made this set last week and never got it posted. The ornament is made of paper mache and I got it at Hobby Lobby. I just glued matching papers to it to tie in with the card. The papers are from a new pad out this year by Cloud9Design. The stamps are by Waltzingmouse. The flourish on the bottom of the ornament is a random unknown stamp. There are dimensionals under some of the designs. Have a good week!

A Fall Purse

Time is getting away from me and I just realized I needed to do a birthday gift card holder for someone special. So, this is what I came up with. I must give credit to Becky Roberts for coming up with the template and instructions for this cute thing! It's really pretty easy to put together with just some cutting and glueing. The DP is by Cloud9Design. There are tiny pearls for the clasp but they are just for show! There is a velcro closure inside. Is this not the cutest little purse!!! There are a few more designs in her tutorials that I will eventually try too. Her website is here.

AUG10VSNB Verve Window Challenge

Two posts in one day with the same stamp!!! This truly wasn't planned but I found a bunch of challenges on SCS tonight and had time to do one before starting dinner. We had to do a window card with a Summer Breeze theme. Well, in Arizona this is our summer dream!!! I thought it was most appropriate for us! It's a Penny Black stamp and so cute!

Warm Wishes

Isn't this guy a cutie! It's a Penny Black stamp I purchased last year at the end of the season. I think he might get used alot this holiday season! The DP is from a paper pad from Hobby Lobby last year and I really like it. The sentiment is by Waltzingmouse Stamps. You may see a few more variations of this card!
I'm still hanging in there with these contact lenses. I still have wacko vision but they say it takes a few weeks. It's the close up vision that really bothers me. Just can't seem to do my crafting with these things in unless I one-eye it!
Have a fun weekend!

Holly Day Wishes

I had to make an easy card today. I got contact lenses for the first time in my life and I have one lens for distance vision and the other lens for close-up vision. If it sounds like a nightmare...it has been. I couldn't see anything. They said it takes time for your brain to adjust. Well, I'm not sure my brain will take the challenge. Not only that...but getting those darn things in and out of my eye wasn't too fun either. Guess that will come with practice, just like anything else. So, needless to say, my crafting and sewing were at a minimum today. I'm working on a quilt and it looks like I was drunk. So, I quit. So, my 6 hours of wearing them today is up and I'm so HAPPY!!! Tomorrow will be another day!
So, this was my easy card for the day! The holly paper is really what makes the card. I just added the bling to the berries and the sentiment by Waltzingmouse. Couldn't be much easier!

Recipe card

I tried a new recipe a few days ago that I found in one of my cooking magazines. It was SO SO good so I knew I had to put it in my scrapbook of recipes. This was a very simple card to make. The potholder is from Paper Studio and has lots of cooking related stamps in the set. I went through my scrap box to find papers so who knows where they came from! It's always nice to use those once in awhile too!

I got some good news yesterday! I submitted my craft room pics to a magazine and they are going to be published in their Nov/Dec issue!!! I'm so excited! I will give you more info when the time rolls around!

Happy crafting!

A Little Bird Told Me

Today was a great day! I sewed all morning and worked on paper crafts this afternoon. Couldn't ask for a better day than that! This is a card made with Prickley Pear stamps and die cuts. The bird cage is a die cut as well as the birds! The papers are My Mind's Eye. The green cardstock is SU and has been stamped with Versamark. I just love how this card turned out! Hope your day is great too!!! See you tomorrow!

Marvelous

This was a fun card to make. It was an inspiration challenge that can be found here. If you scroll down a bit I think you can see the image that was my inspiration. This card will go so well in my crafting room and on my blog!!! Maybe that's why it was so fun to make! I do love pink and black!
The stamp is by Hero Arts. The flocked black and white paper is by My Mind's Eyes. The pink embossed paper is Bazzil. Hope your week starts out great! I plan to have a good week! Anything beats last week!

Happy Fall

I'm back! It's been a tough week with construction guys here but I think we are done until we get our hardwood flooring in. They are telling us it will be a month. So, another month of this mess! I'll be so glad to have things back in order again.
This is a card I made with some stamps made locally by Prickley Pear. Each set also has a die cut you can purchase. This set has the pumpkin and leaves. The background is a Spellbinders pendant that has been distressed but it's hard to see in the photo. The left side border is a Martha Stewart punch. The papers are Kaisercraft.
I have added quite a few more items to my Zibbet shop so check it out. There is a link here. Have a great weekend!

Thinking of you

Wow! 2 posts in one day! I'm working late tonight and got a fresh new card done - listening to the rain fall. (that's a rare occasion in Arizona!)
I got this sketch challenge on SCS and decided to try it with a stamp that has never seen ink. The cute monkey is by C C Designs and the sentiment is by Prickley Pear. The papers are some more new ones by SU that I love. My SU lady sells DP's assortments in a package of 1/4 sheets so I get a taste of all of them which works great for cardmakers. OK.. this is it for tonight. I have to get up early tomorrow to be ready for more workers. UGH...

Golf Bday card

This is a card I made a few days ago when I had a little more time on my hands. I'm now pretty busy trying to get some painting done in our rain damaged room. We had a monsoon tonight and there are no signs of water leaking in so that is good.
So, this is a card I made for my brother who tries to golf in his free time. I think he'll like it! I got the sketch idea from a Verve Anniversary sketch challenge they have going now. The papers are some new SU papers. The stamp sentiment is SU and the Snoopy is Stampabilities. Hope you have a great day!

Wedding Shadowbox

I came up with a way to showcase several of the items I made for my daughter's wedding. This is a shadowbox I picked up at Michael's for 40% off. I put lots of the items I had made on the velcro backing. It's not really velcro but that's how they sell it!!! Velcro will not hold any of the items to the backing so I resorted to my 3-in-1 glue and it all seems to be STUCK! There are so many more things but I picked my favorites! The flowers are corsages for a few of the events. This is such a fun way to display memories.
I have started a shop on Zibbet.com. It's a place to sell your handmade crafts. I have several wedding things I wanted to sell so have decided to see how a Zibbet shop goes. Here is the link. I hope to put a few more items up soon so hang in there!

Christmas Wishes!

I'm really getting in to my holiday cards, it seems!!! This was for a sketch challenge on Verve Stamps. My stamps are by Waltzingmouse Stamps - seems to be the story with me lately!!! The leaves and berries are all popped up with dimensionals as well as the little tag itself. The DP's are from last year's holiday stash by K & Company. The punch is by Martha Stewart. Michael's had tons of them on sale for $4.99 last week - clearance racks. I bought too many but really like the ones I got. Have a good day!

Pumpkin Dudes

Aren't these guys cute?! These are some of the new papers from Graphic 45 that I fell in love with! They have so many awesome Halloween papers this year. The card was on a sheet of many many Halloween cards that you just cut apart and use. How simple is that! The sentiment is by Waltzingmouse Stamps. Hope you have a fun weekend!

Craft Room Pics

Here they are!!! I finally got my room organized after the move. The first pictures shows the built-in units we had put in when we built the house. It's a crafter's dream for storage! I love them. You will see all the binders and books on the right side of the picture. That is where many of my unmounted stamps are housed. My tv is on that bottom shelf too! I made all the curtains and seat cushion - back when we decorated this room for my daughter. I love the fabrics! The second picture is the right side of my room where my desk is. My hubby made the desk with lots of cubby holes for putting odd sized things. It was pretty inexpensive to make too and it works so well for me. He made the end unit to house lots more of the drawers that I purchased from a company a few years ago (I can't remember the name of it right now). The third picture is an overview of the whole room. The center table is for my 3 main tools that I use all the time - a cutter, a Scor-pal, and my Big Shot. Under the table is a box of my 12 x 12 papers, a file FULL of scraps that are organized (yea, right) by color and another box of white and off white scraps. The gorilla that is sitting in the chair has scared the ____ out of me a few too many times. I'm not used to having a big black gorilla looking over my shoulder while I work!!! The last photo is of the other end of the room. It's another dresser filled with more supplies and papers. The pillow on the floor is for my Westie. Maybe I will find a pink and black doggy bed someday!!! Wouldn't that be cool!!! Hope you enjoyed seeing my craft room. Would love to hear ideas you have for storage solutions!!!

Nestie Storage

I know this is boring boring boring but I have finally found a way to store all of my Nesties (Spellbinders). I was given a photo album a few years ago and I knew I would never use it. It's one of those with the slip-in pockets. Well, I was determined to find a way to store all my Nesties. So, I cut 4 x 6 pieces of cardstock and ran a few strips of tape across them with my ATG gun. I just place the nesties on the strips. The nesties come like that so I figured I could do the same thing. It seems to be working very well!!! Now I can just flip through the book and see all the Nesties and not have to dig through a drawer for them. MUCH easier! My next project is storing all my Just Rite stamps. It's not as clever or cute but at least I can see what I have. I'm just stamping each stamp on a sheet of cardstock and then mounting them on a strip of tape on the same page. I am then putting them inside of page protector pocket sheets and into a .75 Walmart notebook. We'll see how it goes....I'm burned out on it now so will have to put it aside for awhile!!! Maybe tomorrow I'll get back to cards!!!

More craft room pics

Today was a day I had hoped would be spent in my craft room. Unfortunately, that did not happen! I spent most of the day running errands or solving problems. Tonight I am trying to get a little sewing done so I can mail off a package. I'm making some fun things for my daughter-in-law for her new home. I have lots of great ideas but just not enough time to do them. Another very busy day tomorrow.
So, this is a continuation of the one side of my craft room. As I said before, the room was all pink and black with a Paris theme. So, I just kept that theme and worked with it. The dresser is a very very old dresser that we painted white for her and then have just painted the slats to match whatever color her room was. This time the slats were painted black. I got rid of the dresser mirrors and I'm using the dresser to house lots of supplies - punches, die cuts, adhesives, finished cards and lots of other miscellaneous supplies for crafting. I've been putting my recent cards on top of the dresser for display. To the left of the dresser is my sewing machine area. It's work in progress so I can't show a picture of that until my mess is cleaned up!!! I'm not a neat crafter or sewer. Stay tuned for more to come!!!

Ribbon Storage Solved!

OK, I have to admit...I have a ribbon fettish! I have TONS of ribbon. Several weeks ago when I wasn't posting on my blog...I was wrapping ribbon, and more ribbon, and more ribbon. I had ribbon everywhere and it's no wonder I could never find what I wanted. So, I have seen this method of storage on several blogs and decided this was going to be my next big project!!! I got a few sheets of mat board (like they use to frame pictures) and cut it into small rectangles about 2 x 3". I cut hundreds of them! I then just started wrapping ribbon till I went nuts! You can usually fit about 5 yards on one spool unless it is pretty bulky ribbon. So, I still have many round spools left that still have 5 or 10 yards on them. They will just have to wait!!! From now on, I will only buy smaller spools of ribbon. I will never use 15 yards of one color! I grouped the ribbons by colors and then put them into scrapbook plastic containers at Michael's for about $9 but I used my coupons for them. It is truly amazing how much space you save by doing this!!! I have 3 boxes full and they are sitting on top of my cabinets you see in the first picture. I have papers and scrapbooking supplies in the drawers. I love these drawers. You will see later that my husband built me a few desks for more of these same drawers. Much cheaper this way and they store so much stuff!!! OK>>>that is it for today!

Let's do lunch

These are new stamps I got a few weeks ago and have been really wanting to put ink to them. The stamps are part of Waltzingmouse Stamps and also Verve Stamps sets. They both have really cute tea themed stamp sets so I just bit the bullet and got them both! I do love tea so that helped - it's a Southern Gal thing!!!
So, I stamped the images and cut them out. They were all popped up with dimensionals which you might see better if you enlarge the picture. The rick rack is from my sewing collection from ages ago. This is the first card that I have sewn on. I have moved my sewing machine into my new craft room so hopefully I can use it more on my cards. (It really needs to finish up a quilt first!!!) The DP is by October Afternoon and is just one sheet with the 2 different sides that coordinate well. Hope you have a fun week!

My Craft Room

Well, this is my new craft room! This is about all I can show you right now!!! My daughter's bedroom was a "Paris" themed room with everything pink and black. She is married now so I have moved my tiny craft room into her huge bedroom and I'm slowly getting things organized. We're in the middle of a mess from a roof leak so things are progressing a bit slower than I would like. So, I decided to fancy up one big blank area of a wall. It's where she had her dresser so there was a big VOID. I got busy on my "Silhouette" and printed up a few things on vinyl and had a fun time! I just found a font I like and typed the wording and printed it. The other things are medallions that I purchased in the online store. I love my Silhouette! The vinyl doesn't do the best on my textured walls - especially when I've placed the letter a few times before finally settling on the right spot!!! But, I think it will work for me for quite some time!!! Have a fun day!

Halloween Set

I must say that I am so excited to start making some Halloween goodies, even though it is still a bit early!!! I've seen some really fun stamp sets and purchased a few so I'm ready to "play" and that is just what I did today!
These stamps are by Waltzingmouse Stamps. They are stamped and then punched out and then popped up on scalloped nesties. The ribbon on the card is actually a "trick or treat" ribbon that you may see better if you click on the photo. The paper is from a new set I saw at Joann's by Cloud 9 Design and it has the fall and winter holiday papers in the pad - my favorite!
So, have a great crafting weekend!
