Christmas Joy

This card was made using papers from The Wassail collection by Basicgrey. The stamp is by Impression Obsessions. The snow was done using glitter and Crystal Laquer. I colored the image with Copics. The edges are done with distress inks. They"Joy" is a rub on from Michael's craft department. The solid cardstock papers are by SU. This was a pretty simple card to do! Have a great day!

Poinsettia Christmas

This is a fun card made with Dazzles rub-ons. I put the poinsettia leaves onto various scraps of paper and then cut out around the edges. Each layer is popped up with dimensionals. They are mounted on Spellbinder's diecuts. The DP is SU paper. There is also a gold Dazzle sentiment under the bow! Have a great day!

Halloween Gate Fold Card

This card took me a LONG time to get to come together properly but I think it was worth all the frustrations! This is my second card. The first one I used "red tape" and you don't make mistakes when you use that stuff! Well, I did so had to start over!!! I was not happy!!! Anyways, it's a gate fold card. When it is opened, the center of the circle reveals a spider. It's almost like curtains opening. Directions can be found here. I used various paper scraps from SU and Heidi Swapp. The haunted house is cut from my Silhouette. Stamps are miscellaneous stamps. The circles are cut with SU punches. The bat on the front is a tiny diecut from Provo Craft. I hope you enjoy this card after all the frustrations I went through to make it!!! This may be a keeper card!!! Have a wonderful week!

Thanksgiving Tag Card

I love making these TAGS and thought I would try a Thanksgiving one. I began by distressing the whole tag with distressing ink by Tim Holtz. I then put a mask in the bottom left corner and sprayed the whole tag with Glimmer Mist. I pulled the mask off and the image magically appeared! I did the same up in the top right hand corner AFTER I had already done the first mask - so it's not quite as prominent. I stamped lots of leaves (Inkadinkado and SU) on the card. I stamped other leaves on cardstock and then sprayed them with Glimmer Mist and cut them out. There are a few Tim Holtz embellishments on the tag and Home Pro corners. I like how it turned out! Have a great weekend!

Thanksgiving

Another busy day for me. I have been working on a few quilts and had a deadline to meet and was determined to get everything done today so I could ship it to a friend so she could do the machine quilting on it. It took all day...but the package is out! What a relief! Now I just have to start on the dust ruffle and finish up hemming a few pairs of pants that have been waiting to be done since last spring! Then maybe I can get my sewing machine out of my dining room!
I got a new Cuttlebug folder in the mail several days ago so have been wanting to try it out. I embossed it and then used distress ink to highlight the embossing. I cut out the design too and popped it up with dimensionals. "Thanksgiving" is punched out with a SU punch and distressed a bit and then popped up too. The leaves and acorns are SU stamps from a previous year that are colored with Copics. The DP is Debbie Mum and the solid cardstocks are SU. Have a wonderful Friday!

Ode to Joy

It's been a busy day for me so I just happened to have this card I did a few days ago that never got posted! Thank goodness! It's a gorgeous card made with an image from Graphic 45's Christmas Past Collection. I cut out the image and mounted it on SU cardstock. I really wanted to put this beautiful gold ribbon on this card and finally decided there was only one way it was going to go on and not detract from the card! So, what do you think? The gold paper is a metallic paper from HL. The pearls are stick-ons. Such an easy, yet very elegant card for the holidays and you can't hate that! Have a great rest of the week!

Thanksgiving Card

Here's a Thanksgiving card I made in the few minutes I had available to me today. This is a Just Rite stamp that is colored with Copic markers. The center is punched out and popped up with dimensionals. The purple border is a punch that doesn't punch real well and it's new!!! Not too happy with it. The papers are Debbie Mum. Simple card except for tedious coloring! Have a great week!

Christmas Joy

I baked 4 home-made pound cakes today and made 5 dozen cookies! I'm a bit tired!!! They are for a luncheon after a funeral tomorrow. What a job! I did this card yesterday since I knew this would be an exhausting day - again!!!
This is another metallic card that is 3 dimensional. It is made with "Metallic Special Effects" paper by Dovecraft. There are several images to punch out and then they are stacked with dimensionals. You can see the stacking in the middle picture. Again, the picture does not do the card justice! It is really beautiful! I backed the completed image with silver metallic paper and then put that on gold ridged metallic paper. My base card is vanilla cardstock. The "Joy" stamp is by
Dee Gruenig and is embossed in metallic gold and backed with silver. The ribbon is also silver.

Snowman Christmas

I've been MIA for a few days but have been home - doing other not so fun things! My neighbor's Dad died this past week so I've been helping her out with many things including making 2 big huge photo memory boards to have up on display at the funeral home on Monday. We spent one WHOLE day working on those things. I was so beat after doing them. We did them in my kitchen with tile floors and were working on my big counter top. The floors got really hard after 8 hours of standing on them! But...the boards turned out great. Tomorrow I will be making cakes all day for the luncheon afterwards. I think I have decided to go buy another cake pan so I can at least do 2 at the same time. I think it will be money well spent - especially here in Arizona where you just don't want to keep your oven going any longer than you absolutely have to. It's still in the low 100's everyday, so it's rather hot!!! SO...I actually got out of the house today and got a few fun things done and came home and made several cards. This is made with a Just Rite stamp from one of their new collections. I colored Frosty with Copic markers. I'm waiting on some Polar White Snow by Flower Soft to put on his hat. Guess that will come later! Frosty is popped up with dimensionals. There are several Spellbinders used here too. The sentiment is by Tim Holtz. The papers are by SU. I made a few more cards but will have to post them tomorrow since I will be short on time again! Come back and check it out! Have a great week!

Sympathy Card

It seems I'm doing too many sympathy cards lately. They are never easy to do. This one came along rather nicely. I found some paper in my stash that I loved and it was by 7gypsies. It is from the Savannah collection. It is from an 8 x 8 pad of paper. This sheet has a very beautiful side so I decided to showcase it and just add a sentiment and ribbon . The sentiment is embossed in gold. It is stamped and cut 2 times and the top layer is popped up with dimensionals. I did a little distressing around the edges to tie in with the paper. The ribbon is silk ribbon and is SO SO soft. It is from Sharon Johnson. There are tiny gold balls in the corners of the paper. So elegant...so easy!

Halloween Spook House!

This is the cutest Halloween house that I made using Maya Road products. The roof lifts off to reveal the little booklet shown beside the house. The house and the booklet are chipboard. I covered them with DP. The doors, windows and room are all painted with black acrylic paint. I then spritzed them with copper glimmer mist. I then took some espresso acrylic paint and just rubbed it here and there to give the rustic look. The ghosts are all diecuts. The charm above the door and the chain and door knob are all by Tim Holtz. Don't you just love that door knob??? Too cute! There is a black cat stamped on the back of the house by Inkadinkado. The pumpkin and "boo" are also diecuts. The little book is all done with various DP's and various diecuts, stamps, glitz and whatever I could find to use! This was so much fun to do! I may have to do a few more of these!!!

Halloween Goodies!

Here are a few Halloween goodies I'm doing for my Avon business. The card has been posted previously so you can scroll back through my posts for information on it. I also showed the inside of the card this time. The sentiment is by Imaginations. The long thing is a Hershey's bar covered in DP by Debbie Mum. I made a tag to tie on. The little cute box is a SU matchbox diecut. It is made in black cardstock and the cover is Debbie Mum DP. There is a tag on the top that says Happy Halloween (Stampendous). I will put Halloween Nuggets inside when I get them!!! The outside of the envelope has a spider on it too which you can see to the left of the card in the first picture. Have a spooktacular day!

More Metallic Cards

Here are 3 more Metallic Christmas cards I made and they were so fast, so fun and so easy! Just have to love that!!! The images are cut from a sheet of vintage Christmas scenes. I then just mounted them on cardstocks. I used lots of metallic cardstocks in all of these. The middle card has an embossed Bazzill cardstock that is really pretty. The first card has some rub on gold metallic lettering that is just so elegant! The pictures do not do these cards justice. They are metallic and very shimmery so they fight with my camera. I got most of the supplies from Crop Girls in Peoria, AZ. We have one gal that is from England so she orders lots of unique things from there and we are always happy to see what she comes up with next!!! Have a great week!

Happy Birthday!

I'm doing well today...2 cards in one day!!! And there could be more!!! This was a card to try out a new toy I got today - shame on me - but it literally takes up NO room to store so that's ok! It's a Spellbinders Impressabilities. I have never used one of these before and it took several attempts and then finally tuning in to You Tube to get it to work. It's gorgeous! I rubbed SU ink on it after it was embossed to bring out the image a little better. Cool! The round stamp is a clear stamp that gave me a bit of trouble. I got out my sander and sanded and sanded and sanded and it did much better with still room for improvement! I must say once again...I really like my red rubber stamps much better! I stamped the image two times and then cut out the center and popped it up with dimensionals. The scalloped circles are Nesties and a SU punch. The bow is by Bow Easy. My papers are by SU. Enjoy your weekend!

Metallic Joy

Wow! This was a simple card to make!!! I picked up some Metallic Special Effects paper at a local craft shop today. Each sheet is full of Vintage Christmas scenes that you just cut apart. How easy can that be! I also picked up a stack of metallic papers at Hobby Lobby and they were perfect for these images so I may be doing more of these simple cards! I hope to have more goodies later so stay tuned!

Pendant Christmas

This is another pendant card made using a Spellbinders pendant medallion on a gold metallic cardstock. The center square is a Flower Soft print that has the vintage Flower Soft for the wreath and Russet Red Flower Soft for the bow. The image is popped up on the gold medallion with dimensionals. The red and green cardstock are by Bazzill. The ribbon is holiday ribbon made with the Bow Easy. Have a great weekend!

Pet Sympathy Card

This was a very hard card for me to do but I know I needed to get it done. My brother's dog died a few days ago on the way to the vet in his wife's arms. It is SO SO hard to lose your pets and I've been in tears doing this card. Buttons was a very special dog and very near and dear to Regina as she battled cancer and depression as well as cancer in her husband (my brother). They have been through so much and Buttons truly helped get them through it all. So this card is for them in memory of Buttons. My deepest sympathy goes out to them during this horrible time. We love you!
This is a Pink Gem Designs stamp and is just like my Muffy. I colored it with Copics. The paper is from The Paper Studio and SU. Have a good day!

Medallion Card

This is a card I made with the Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Pendant. The center is punched out and is also punched out of the actual card. This was quite the challenge as I did not know how to punch the center of the card and not make a mess of the folded edge of the card. It wrapped around the embossing folder so the nice smooth crease that I started out with on my card was suddenly about 1/4" wide and a mess. So...I had to cover it up with the ribbon on the left side of the card. The medallion is placed on top of a medallion embossing folder by Cuttlebug. It is popped up with dimensionals. The inside of the card (second photo) is another medallion pendant that is cut from a silver metallic card stock. The fleur de lis is also punched out and put in the center and popped up. When the card is closed, you see this through the center of the medallion on the front of the cardstock! The sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. The bow was made double using my Boweasy. Have a great day!

Holiday Organizer

Today was one of those frustrating days so I didn't have too much time to stamp so just finished up a project I started a few days ago. My craft room is getting smaller and smaller and I am almost at wits end trying to figure out how to organize and reorganize!!! I just have too much stuff!!! I am really going to work on not getting anymore STUFF!!! I'm sure it will be tough but I just don't have room. I have enough stuff to open up a few stores right now! Anyways...this is a holiday organizer made from a Penway notebook purchased at Walgreen's. I got my favorite holiday papers out - Debbie Mum - and just went to town covering it up! The inside has pockets for receipts or whatever. The tabs are really straight but the photo was taken at an angle so the book would stay open to see them. The tabs say: Wish Lists, Cards, To Do, Dates, Gifts, and Recipes. I think I had a brainstorm with my quilting project so hopefully tomorrow will go a little better! I'm a seamstress but not a quilter so this has become a very frustrating project! Hope your day is fun and exciting!!!

Glimmer Mist Card

This is my first card made with Glimmer Mist and I must say that the picture does not do it justice. There is no white in my card - so where you see white...it is a pale yellow. I stamped the sentiment with a Dee Gruenig stamp and Close to my Heart ink. The card is then misted with Yellow Daisy and then Scarlet. I then applied a mask and put more Scarlet mist on top. I took the mask (flourish design) off of the card and there is my image! The butterfly is a Tim Holtz grunge board diecut. I saturated it with English Ivy, Yellow Daisy and Scarlet Glimmer Mist. I let it set a few seconds and then wiped it off. Cool, huh? I forgot to give my butterfly antennaes but will do that before I used the card! Enjoy your day!

Halloween Goodies!

You really didn't think I was done with my Halloween stuff, did you? Well, guess what! Here is more! The little holder in the back is a wood purse type thing that I found at Michael's unpainted for $1. I painted the edges and then covered it with paper. The trick or treat bag is something from a package I had in my stash from years ago. The ghost is a diecut. The ribbons are glitzy silky type ribbons that I think I got at Michael's years ago too! The box to the right is a clear acetate box that is filled with my favorite - M & M's. I just cut out some cute borders from my Debbie Mum papers and glued them on. The card is a 3 x 3 card made with cutouts from the paper too. The candy in the middle is just covered with a border and tied with a ribbon. These are all Debbie Mum papers! How simple is that?!?!?! This will be part of a drawing for my Avon customers!
