Happy Birthday

Here is a card I made today using lots of Spellbinders dies. The DP is Basicgrey. The ribbon is from Sharon Johnson - No Time to Stamp, blog. She has awesome ribbons and my favorite place to get them! The stamped sentiment is by Papertrey Ink. I airbrushed the flower a little on the edges.

I have discovered how painful wisdom teeth can be in my old age. I have had 2 impacted top wisdom teeth for years and was told they would probably never come in. Well, guess what? One is in, and the other has been giving me so much pain these past 6 days. I'm ready to have it pulled out. I have an earache, headache, tooth ache, jaw PAIN and a sore neck. If babies have to go through this much discomfort, it's no wonder they are fussy and miserable when they are teething!!!

Have a good week!

Easter Blessings

Here is an Easter Card I made today using lots of dies. The flowers are all die cuts by Memory Box. The greenery is by Punch Bunch. the cute bunny was actually sitting on a present and I cut that out. It is a stamp by Stampavie and the sentiment is by Judith. I punched the background with a MS set.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Birthday Wishes

Here is a birthday card for my son. It's so perfect for him, even though he probably could care less. He is a finishing up pilot training in the Navy and has always been fascinated with airplanes. This reminds me so much of him when he was a few years old. The stamp is by Penny Black. The star is a MS punch. The DP is SU.

We woke up to about 4 or 5 inches of snow this morning - surprise surprise! It's been snowing all day and we have about 8 or 9 inches on the ground. I really wish the guys that plow our streets would learn how to do a cul-de-sac. Some how they think that they should plow the side that noone lives on but leave all the snow in front of the ONLY 2 driveways in the cul-de-sac. With close to a foot of snow in the streets, it makes it hard to get out when they do half the street - and nobody drives on the other side!!! I just don't get it! They are absolutely clueless.

Have a great day!

Spring is coming!

By the temps outside, you would think spring is just around the corner here. But, the ground is still white and more snow is coming. But, here is a card to make us feel like spring is coming. The window and flower box are die cuts by Poppystamps. Most of the flowers are punches or diecuts by Memory Box. The yellow gingham curtain is a punch by MS. The big frame is Spellbinders. Many of the cards I make, I leave off the front sentiment until I use the card. That gives me more options! I have plenty of small sentiments that will work on most cards so I like to wait to put those on which is why you don't see many on my cards!

Hope your day goes well! See you again!

praying for you

Wow! This doesn't look anything like the colors on my card!!! Not sure what the deal is with that! The background is a beautiful dark purple and the lighter background is a green. These are both SU DP's. I have backed both of the DP's with a bright yellow - not orange as it appears. The left stamp is a Jalynn design clear stamp. It was stamped in purple and colored with copics. The flower is popped up in the center and is a Memory Box stamp. The lace punch is by MS. The sentiment is SU. This really is a beautiful card in real life!

Hope your weekend went well. I have enjoyed the peace and quiet to concentrate on some new crafting projects that aren't really my cup of tea! But, I am determined to get through it so I will show those to you down the road. Have a great week!

Dogwood beauty

Here is a dogwood flower card that is the state flower for NC which is where I grew up. I always loved dogwood trees. They were so beautiful in the spring. This is a new Memory Box stamp that I have cut 2 times and popped up with dimensionals. The sentiment is SU.

We had about 3 inches of snow last night. I wasn't expecting it so was quite surprised when I looked out the window this morning. I brushed it off the driveway and was peeling off clothes! It was 47 when I went outside so I really didn't need a coat.

Have a great day!

Memory Box Exclusive

Today I made this card using a Memory Box exclusive stamp and die for a local stamp store here in Colorado Springs. It is not available anywhere else! The flower is our state flower. The center is stamped twice and popped up with dimensionals. The hummingbird is also stamped twice and popped up in the body of the bird and then the wings are bent for a 3D effect. The sentiment is by Prickly Pear. The frame is Spellbinders.

I have some sewing projects to do this weekend but hope to do a few cards as well. Hope your weekend is a fun one!!!

Spring card

Happy Valentine's Day! Here is a springy card I made rather quickly today. I had to get away from the taxes awhile. We are just beginning the grueling task and it's not going to be a fun journey with the move last year. But, it has to be done. So these are a few punches that were placed in the center of a Spellbinder's die. I popped up the outer oval for a little extra dimension. The DP is some old SU paper from several years ago. Have a great day!

Lacy card

This could be used as a valentine card but that was not my intentions when creating it! I decided to try my hand at the punch around the page punches by MS. I started with a 5" square and went to town! I got lucky!!! How beautiful is that? So then I just started putting Spellbinder's dies on top of it and my card was done. I have wanted to use these Webster's Pages cameos for a long time and this worked out perfectly. The ribbon is silk and always makes such beautiful bows.

It's so hard to believe Whitney Houston is gone. She was such a beautiful lady with an amazing voice! It's so sad that so many people with such talent bring so much happiness to all the people in this world except themselves.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day! It's one day that I prefer not to venture out to the busy restaurants so we will be enjoying ours at home. I have a few favorite recipes that I make for Valentine's Day. We may have more snow coming in so it will be a nice night to sit by the fire!

Another valentine

I think this will be my last valentine that I will post this year. This is an old SU stamp that has been mounted on a Spellbinder's die cut. I added a few extra fleur-de-lis emblems to the stamped image. The background paper is made with some washi tapes.

We have had snow all day today. Not much accumulation but we still have a foot on the ground so it's hard to say. The wind is so strong that is just blows the snow off the driveways and streets. That is a good thing. I really didn't want to go blow off the driveway today. It's pretty cold out!

I finished piecing my latest quilt so I'm hoping to get that to my long-arm quilter to finish it up for me. I have many more in my plans so I'm ready to move forward with another one. Hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday

I'm back with a birthday card I made for a long time friend. The window is a die cut. The flower is made with a long die cut by Cheery Lynn. It is cut out and rolled up to form the flower. The rest are just various punches. I added the stamped sentiment by Papertrey Ink to the sign above the window that is part of the Webster pages DP. There is also a black die cut border along the bottom of the DP that is the same design that I made the flower out of. If you enlarge the photo, you may see it. It's much more visable in real life. The window is also popped up with dimensionals.

Hope you have a nice weekend. I hope to spend more time in my craft room! See ya soon!

Needle book and another valentine for you!

This is a needle book I made for a dear friend of mine who is an excellent seamstress and papercrafter. The book is made with wool felt. I used some of my floral die cuts for the front cover and added a few embroidery stitches. The inside of the book has felt pages for needles and pins.

I made a few Magnolia Valentine's this year and always enjoy making them. This is actually two images that I have cut out. The DP is by My Mind's Eye and is such a pretty print. The back of the floral paper is the gingham which is what I used for the ribbon backing.

I have some news to share with you in a few weeks. It will involve many projects that I will have to keep undercover for awhile. Until then, I will be busy as a bee! Thanks for dropping by!

Snowy days

I'm back with a picture of our snowfamily that we made in one of our recent snows. We had 2 feet of snow this weekend but didn't get out to make a snow family so here is a photo from the xmas snows. It's a photo of my husband and I on the right and my daughter and her husband on the left side.

And a fun card I made today! I am busy each week making cards for my sister-in-law that has been in a nursing home or hospital for about the past year. I try to make her day a little happier with a card each week. So, here is another for her. She had a little white Maltese dog that they have had to give away to their house cleaning lady because nobody is ever home to take care of her. So, I had a Westie dog that I put on this card since that is the closest pooch stamp I had to a Maltese. She will like it. The fence is a CC Designs stamp. The sentiment is SU. The grass is Dee Gruenig. And of course the Magnolia stamps that we all love! I got out my air brush and colored the background with the shades of green and the blue sky. The grassy stamp was colored with Marvy markers.

Hope your week is going well. We will be heading up to Denver for the day on Wednesday to see our daughter and then go to lunch in Boulder. We will hit a few shops up that way too. Brittany has been telling me about a wonderful kitchen store there so we will both enjoy that. And I will have to check the internet for a quilting store and a stamping store. I think there is a really good quilting store up there so I will have to do some research on that one. I don't know about the crafting stores but will look and see what I can find. Got to make a day of it - ya know!!!

Batty in love

Another valentine here! This is another of Paper Smooches' stamps which are so darn cute! It's a very simple card and those are always good when you are making lots of valentines. The papers are from my huge scrap stash.

We are having a blizzard here today. It started snowing yesterday at 4pm and has not stopped yet! We had about 15 inches of the white stuff this morning and expect another 10 inches or more before it quits on Sat morning. We have drifts up to 5 feet and now that the wind has kicked in...there are actually bare spots on our driveway. My hubby blew it off this morning so that helped. It was DEEP DEEP DEEP. He had to go to Chicago this afternoon so had to get out in it. Hopefully the flights will start going this afternoon. SW cancelled all their incoming flights last night and he was the last one in. They didn't want airplanes stuck in Denver last night and this morning. Good planning.

Hope you have a good Superbowl weekend!

Valentine

Here's a Snoopy Valentine for you! It's a Stampabilies stamp and so easy. The right side DP is My Mind's Eye and the other side is scraps from my stash.

Our snow is finally here. Just started and we could get a foot of the white stuff. I made a HUGE pot of spaghetti sauce, a salad, a Coconut Pie and I have rolls rising in the warm oven. I'm set for a long snowy weekend! Hubby comes in tonight and leaves again in the morning for another trip.

I ordered a bunch of fun card making goodies today. Should be a fun day when they arrive!

Have a great weekend!

Love

Another valentine today! This is actually am image that had a pumpkin balanced on the dog's nose but I cut it off and added a big heart that has been popped up with dimensionals. I believe it is a Penny Black stamp. The DP is by My Mind's Eye.

We are supposed to get a big snow storm tomorrow night. I am looking forward to that. I have plenty of projects to keep me busy. I've been working on my February block of the month and hope to get that done shortly. Another goal I would like to meet this year is to do seasonal table runners. I have several places for them and would love to get started on them. I did order some valentine fabric today so we'll see if it gets here before Valentine's Day.

Have a good day!
