MOJO93 Happy Birthday

This was the MojoMonday sketch challenge for this week. I paper pieced the purse stamp by Greenbrier Int. (old stamp) and added some shimmerz to the base of the purse to make it look like patent leather! The DP's are by SU, Bellapress and Imaginesce. I moved the brads to the smaller square hoping that they would show more on the busy paper. Not sure that worked! The sentiment is by CTMH.

CC225 Happy Birthday!

This Color Challenge was to use Saffron, Navy and Kraft paper for your card. I loved the sound of those colors together and knew I needed to do a card for my brother so I got busy on this one! The stamp is by Cornish Heritage Farms and the sentiment is by CTMH. The back of the Kraft paper is the navy check so it worked beautifully! I don't know who made this paper as it was scraps I dug out of my file. I wish I had more of it!!! The corners are some brads I found in my stash that looked rather masculine so I used them! It's so hard to make masculine cards!!! Have a great day!

Summer Flake

Summer is definitely here in Arizona with temps up to 111 today! Even with the low humidity, it was HOT!!! This card was inspired by some Kaisercraft DP that has flowery flakes on it! I'm trying to think COLD!!! Instead of stamping a design, I decided to just cut out one of the "flakes" and use it for my focal point. It is popped up on a thick dimensional so that it stands above the other 2 Nesties. The other papers are Bazzill cardstock and look much better in real life! It looks pretty orange here! It's more of a coral color. I added pearls and also punched the corners with a Fiscars punch. The white cardstock is some I was given at a convention and it is really beautiful. It is textured and also has little flecks of color in it so it's not plain white. Stay cool!!!

What can I say?

You made my day! Thanks for stopping by! This was a fun card. I have had these stamps for quite some time and they have never seen any ink so I decided this was the day! They are Magnolia stamps and were both cut out and glued on to the Nestie rectangle which is stippled in blue ink with a stencil brush. The images are colored with Copic markers. The DP are scraps so I don't know where they came from. The top trim is actually a Martha Stewart punch for a picket fence that I flipped upside down! It's kind of like an awning. The sentiment stamp is broken into two parts and is by SU. I just inked one side and stamped it and then cleaned it and inked the other side and stamped it. Have a great day!

LSC226 Let your day soar!

Wow! It's 7:15 am and I have a card done for a challenge! That's a rare occasion around here but when I saw the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do so got busy fast! My nephew was born on the 4th of July and will be 26, so this card is for him. Today's challenge was to select 3 items from a menu and make a masculine card. I chose to use red and blue (perfect for the card I needed to make!), use ribbon and brads, and use a locomotion theme (I think my balloon works!). The stamp is by Dee Gruenig and is colored with Marvy markers. The background is stippled with blue ink. The DP is Best Creations and has lots of glitz on it! The sentiment is by SEI. Hope your day soars!

WT224 Summer Fun

Today I want to share a card that I did for the Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS. We were to use Bold Bright Colors for Summer Fun! This card took forever to come together but I'm finally happy with the end result. The stamp is by SU and the sentiment is by CTMH. I used lots of Nesties as you can see and popped them up with dimensionals. The flowers are colored with Copics. The bottom edging is a punch that is backed with red paper to carry the red theme thoughout. The bow is made with my Bow Easy. The ribbon is by Pinkhedgehog crafts and she has some awesome stuff at fabulous prices! Hope you have a Bright Summer Day!

MOJO92

I had to do a Mojo Monday today so this is what I came up with. The stamp is by Outlines Rubber Stamps. The inside square is cut out and popped up with dimensionals and placed on the bigger square. I used Copics to color the flowers. The ribbon is from Pinkhedgehogpapercrafts.com and was free in one of my last orders! I love it when I get something FREE! The bow was made with my "Bow easy". The papers are by K & Co. The velvet flower is by Creative Imaginations and was in a package of 6 for just $1 at a recent stamping convention. Wish I had stocked up!!! Love 'em! Have a wonderful summer day!

Birthday Blessings

I got my Hot Fix fibers out again today and was playing with them. I took a tiny bit of several colors and layed it on top of a red rubber stamp. I then put a piece of paper on top of that and ironed it for about 10 seconds on a silk setting. The design of the stamp is heated into the fibers. It's really hard to tell from the photo but there is a flower in the fibers. I could not get it to show up well in my photos. The right side is better than the left so look there and you will see the flower design. I just stamped a stem for the rest of the flower using a SU stamp. The tag is a die cut by Sizzix. The DP is by Basicgrey-Euphoria collection. The embossed purple paper is some I got in a pad at Big Lots. Cool, huh? I don't know the maker of the sentiment but it's a clear stamp. The corners are punches by SU.

Handkerchief Wedding Dress

Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen!!! I got the idea from The Dove's Nest in Waxahackie, Texas when I was there last weekend! The skirt is made from a handkerchief. I just embossed a piece of paper and then cut a bodice from it. It is folded at the shoulders and then I glued it with my TRUSTY 3-in-1 glue at the side seams. The skirt is then just tucked up inside with nothing holding it in place but the tightness of the bodice. I added tiny pearls at the neckline and it would be nice to add them at the waistline if you have the patience dealing with the TINY pearls! This is just too cute and very easy. I made a little hanger from wire from my beading stash! These would be cute for bridesmaids gifts with the color of their dress as the bodice!

Favorite Recipes Book

This is a Teresa Collins kit I purchased in Texas and it was super easy and pretty quick to put together. I just love making little books! There are enough supplies left over from the kit to make another book with the exception of the chipboard pages. There is plenty of paper! Anyways, all of the Teresa Collins papers, page protectors, chipboard charms, transparancies (the keys) and the red bind it all owire are included. I just added the red paper, ribbons and some brads.
I also finished up a book I made back in May today. I put all my Dallas pictures in it and it is SO cute! I really love it.

LSC224 Bluebonnet Fun

I just love my new bluebonnet stamps. We lived in Texas for 6 years at two different times in my husband's military career and I always loved the spring with all the wildflowers everywhere and especially the bluebonnets. When I was in Dallas this past weekend, I HAD to get these stamps! This card required us to use blues, greens, gray and beige colors. The Kaisercraft striped paper hits it on the nose! Love it! The other green paper is some I got in a kit of cut outs so I don't know who made it but it matches well. I got a "Bow Easy" and made my first bow today! How do you like it? The pearls are put on using my Home Pro tool. Hopefully I'll be back later for a few more posts!

It's Party Time CC223 Challenge

This is a card for Tuesday's SCS Color Challenge. I got some new Nesties this weekend so wanted to try them out. These are all from one of the frame sets - even the blue flower! The white background is a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The papers are all SU. I can't remember if this is a Sugar Nellie stamp but I think it is! I'm too tired to go surfing! The sentiment is by Scrappy Cat. The small frame in the center is popped up with dimensionals as well as the flower with the sentiment. The chef is dressed crazy but she goes ok with the paper and that is important! Have a great day!

Bluebonnets!

Well, I'm finally back again! I was out of town for about 3 days and had an awesome time. We went to Dallas for my husband's 10th anniversary with SW Airlines. I went on SCS to find out some good stamping stores to visit. I went to 3 in the Dallas area and boy were they fabulous!!! I was in heaven! One store about 30 miles south of Dallas was the biggest papercrafting store I have ever been in. What a treat! Anyways...I got these stamps there because I have always loved bluebonnets. They are by Deadbeat Designs. I stamped the bluebonnet in navy ink and then put some 3-in-1 glue on the flower portion of the stamped image. I then put some "Flowersoft" that I also got in Dallas on top of the glue. It really looks neat in real life! I then colored the bottom leaves green with my Copic markers. The green papers are by SU and the blue heart paper is scraps I have had for years. Hope you have a Bluebonnet Day!!!

Wedding Favors

My son is officially engaged now and I have always wanted to try making these cute wedding favors. I downloaded the template online for a few $$. They are really very easy to make. It's mostly just cutting and folding. The one dress is stamped and the other dress is embossed. The tuxedo is supposed to be a NAVY mess dress uniform. He is not sure that is the uniform he will wear. I've since learned that the colors of the wedding will be hunter green and cream so these won't work at all but they were fun to do up as samples for them to see. I will be doing the wedding invitations so that will be fun but tons of work. It will also mostly be just cutting and folding since everything will probably be printed on the computer. I may do some embossing too. We'll see! Have a great day!

Here is a link to order the template.

Let it snow!

It was kind of cool here today in Arizona so I started thinking SNOW!!! It was only up to about 87 the last I checked which is cool considering it has been well over 100 everyday for quite some time! Anyways...I got this stamp several months ago and thought I would try it out. It's never too early to start thinking about xmas cards! I kind of like it although I'm not sure I would make 100 of them! The DP is by Imaginsce and was the inspiration of my card. The white snowflake paper is embossed with a Sizzix folder. I have no idea where the snowman came from. It's just red rubber so I have lost track of the manufacturer. It is colored with Copics and then the white is covered with the Quickie Glue pen and then sprinkled with Denami glitter. The sentiment is by Paper Studio. Pretty simple card, what do you think?

Flourishes

This is a card that was inspired by all the beautiful work that Becca does here on her blog. I love what she has done with Nesties and have tried to incorporate it into my work as well, thank you, Becca! The DP is by Basicgrey - Two Scoops. The other papers are all SU. There is no stamping here...just nesties and paper piercing - all from Spellbinders. I used chalks and metallic rub- ons to bring out some of the embossing. The ribbon is from Pink Hedgehog Papercrafts. I got a BUNCH when she was discontinuing a line of ribbons and it is all SO beautiful. The pearls are just stick ons. Have a great day!

MOJO89

This was my Mojo Monday challenge that I am finally getting around to doing! The DP are by Basicgrey. The other papers are by SU and Bazzill. The sentiment is by Stampabilities and is embossed with a nestie. The circle is also embossed using 2 nesties. The flower is a Prima and the ribbon is by SU. The pearls stick ons are by Kaiser Scrapbook. The butterfly is from my stash! Hope you like it!

Inside Pages of Birthday Book

These are the inside pages of the Birthday Book I previously posted. They are shown in reverse order (sorry, I forgot!) and the fold out folder page is actually the last page in the book and it is shown all opened up. The fronts and backs are decorated. There are cards in some of the pockets if you look closely for the ribbons in the center of the pages. There are also cards on some of the other pages.

SC231 Challenge

I've been MIA for almost a week but hope to be back in the swing of things soon. I had a few spots taken off my skin and had reactions to the bandaids, had collagen injections on my aging face with minor bruising and soreness and got a horrible horrible horrible migraine for 2 days. On top of that I got a miserable cold and then had reactions to a drug they just put me on for Osteopinnia. It has not been a good week for me and I hope I never go through another one like this. SO, this card has put me back into better spirits! I couldn't wait to do it. The DP was from a 6 x 6 pad and I just cut it into 3 slices. It is the "Sultry" collection from Basicgrey. I added the butterfly by SU and glittered her up a bit with green and pick Denami Designs glitter - love that stuff! The sentiment is by inkadinkado.
