Thanks

Just thought I would post a few cards that never got posted so I could wish everyone a Happy New Year! Hope you had a nice xmas and got lots of crafting goodies to add to your stash! I got an I Pad so have been busy trying to figure out how to use it.
These cards were made from Papertrey Ink stamps. I stamped the image and cut them out for more of a 3-D effect. The papers look like they may be Cosmo Cricket but I honestly don't remember as it's been awhile since I made these.
We did have a white Christmas here in beautiful Colorado Springs. We had to teach my daughter and son-in-law how to make snowmen! He is an AZ native and she has never really been in much snow since we lived here 20 years ago and she was just a toddler then. So, it was quite funny experience watching them! I will post a few photos next week.
I have a friend who is selling her Cricut machine. She got it in October and does not like it. It is like new and she is selling it for $85 which include the machine, 2 cartridges, video and new mat. If you are interested, let me know and I will forward the info to her so she can contact you. She lives in the Dallas, Texas area.
That's it for this year! Thank you so much for supporting me this past year and for all the wonderful comments you have posted. Happy New Year!

Thanks

If your email for yesterday's post was the first you received in quite some time...I'm sorry. It took me awhile to figure out why I wasn't getting the postings. I set the account up at my Arizona home and they had my old email address. Well, when my mastercard expired, they did not know how to get in touch with me to get the new expiration date. So, none of my posts went out for a few months. I had updated my email address on the blogger site but not until I had not been getting postings. Then it dawned on me!!!
So, here is a set of cards I made for my sister-in-law who has been in and out of the hospital for the past 16 months. She is in very very bad shape as I write and will be going in for her 8th hip replacement surgery soon. It's not looking very good for her right now. If you would like to send her a card...she is most appreciative of them. It's the highlight of an otherwise very depressing and painful day for her. Here is her address: (my brother and nephew will deliver to her!)
Regina Link
308 41st Ave Place NW
Hickory, NC 28601
The cards were stamped with some $1 stamps. I then just added a border to the bottom of the card with another of those $1 stamps that says "Thanks". The butterfly border is a punch by MS. It is backed with a colored cardstock backing.
We had another day of heavy snow today and it looks like we got about a foot, minimum. I managed to blow most of it off the driveway with our snowblower but will leave the hill for my hubby to tackle when he gets home on Christmas Day. I don't want to risk falling. SO, it looks like we will most definitely be having a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!! YIPEE!!!

A Christmas Tag!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at my house!!! We had a big snow come through on Monday and left us with about 6 or 8 inches of snow! Another big snowstorm is coming though here as I type and is supposed to be much bigger! I think we will have a white Christmas! I'm pretty excited! After living in Arizona for the past 12 years...we were lucky to have the AC off!

Here is a tag I made to go with some Christmas goodies for my neighbor. They have 5 grandkids coming in so I made some cake balls. They are always a big hit with everyone and pretty easy to make. This tag has lots of Tim Holtz inspiration in it. The trees are stamps by Dee Gruenig and are embellished with a snow pen and a glitter pen. The deer and "25" are Tim's diecuts. The background paper is Webster's. The white snowflakes are embossed and the other snowflake is an embellishment I had in my stash. The tag on Rudolph is also by Tim.

Hope you are enjoying your last few days before Christmas and are getting all your crafting projects done! Merry Christmas!

O Christmas Tree!

Hello friends! The biggest load has been lifted off my shoulders this week! I finally got all my packages together and mailed. I think that is the biggest stress of my holidays each year and I think that may change in the future. Shipping has become way too expensive and we get a 75% discount on Fed Ex which used to be a good deal - not anymore. So, things may change next year.
Here is a card I finished up from a print-out on Aimee Asher's website. You print several pages of images and then just play paper-dolls. Cut and paste. There are some really beautiful cards on her site and I love them all. I added the stamped sentiment and the metallic deer die cut. I used some of the glitter glue for the pink ornaments on the tree too.
Hope you are finishing up your crafting projects and having time to enjoy the holidays. See you soon!

Here are a few more calender pages. I don't know why blogger doesn't upload things in the order that I submit but that is why they are out of order. It's not my fault!!! As I said in a previous post...these were super simple! Now...just wondering if you are getting updates on my blog. Please let me know. I'm not so not sure what is going on with that. Just hope everyone else gets the updates by email. Enjoy your weekend! I have a friend coming in Sunday that I haven't seen in 32 years so that should be fun!

Calenders

I'm back for a quick post. I made calenders a few years ago that are put inside of 6 x 6 photo refill pages. These were put on a wood stand and you just flip the pages for each month. Well, my Dad asked me why I didn't do refills for each year. So, guess what my folks will be getting for xmas! These were very quick and simple because I did not have the time to spend on them. I found the calenders on SCS and printed them up and then just mounted them on cardstock. It took me all of a few hours to pull these together and that is truly all the time I had to spend on it with all the other projects in the works. I'm working hard to get all my xmas packages in the mail by Tuesday! We'll see how that goes! Have a great weekend!

Snowmen for a snowy day!

Wow...it is cold here today and it's been snowing all day. Fed Ex just delivered a package to me and he drove up our steep driveway and slid all the way back down when leaving. It looks like there is about 7 or 8 inches on the driveway where he was but other areas it is bare! The winds have been bad.
This card is perfect for today. Snowmen! Another metallic papers card. They are so elegant even though it's hard to see in these photos.
Hope you have a fun day. I plan to spend mine in the craft room or cooking! Couldn't be better than that!

Snow much fun!

Hello my friends! I'm back! Thanks for the concerns...nothing wrong...just busy! We had a house full of company for a week and lots of preparation before and lots of cleaning afterwards. Then it was time to pull out xmas decorations...and on and on the story goes!!! We had another snowstorm blow through yesterday. Wednesday I was out and about in shirt sleeves. Yesterday it never got above 14 at my house! Since it was so warm the previous day, the snow melted and then it got really cold and it froze. So, we had very hazardous conditions here and about 4 inches of snow. I'm loving it though! It's quite the change from Arizona!
So, here is a card I made today. I dug out my metallic prints from last year and remembered how much I loved them. So, I made a few more cards with them. I purchased a sheet with 10 or 15 little holiday images on it. I cut them apart and use them for quick cards. They are really hard to photograph with all the glitz but they sure are pretty! The red ribbon is silk ribbon from Sharon at "No Time to Stamp" blog. She has the most beautiful ribbons. I'll see you back here tomorrow for another card! Have a wonderful day!

In Sympathy

I seem to be making too many of these cards lately. Not much to this one either! I made this a few weeks ago and just never got it posted. I don't remember whose paper this is and I have too many pads to go through to find it and not enough time for that. I think if you need to know you can check back on my blog and find another card made with it too and it may be listed there. The sentiment is by My Sentiments Exactly.
Well, ours winds got up to 115 mph last weekend when the trampoline came and hit my house 2 times. It moved another 30 feet that night but no damage. The neighbors said they would be getting another one in the spring. Guess they haven't learned! The first two blew away and you would think they would figure it out after that. We are expecting 90 mph winds this weekend! I'm truly NOT looking forward to it!
Have a great Friday!

Happy Anniversary

This is a card I made for my sister-in-law. She is in the nursing home and has been there since August. I'm trying to send a card each week to her. I just can't imagine myself in a nursing home for that long and she is just a few years older than me. She will have her hip put back in whenever her infection heals. It's not healing very fast at all either.
This card was made with a black embossed card stock which you can barely see in the picture. The black and gold DP is also embossed and very beautiful paper. I embossed the sentiment in a metallic gold as well. It seems cards with any shine on them do not photograph well and I'm not a pro at photography so this will have to do!!!
Hope you have a great weekend. I just had a trampoline hit my house in 2 different spots so I'm a bit shaky. The winds are over 40 mph. I will never understand why people don't bolt those things down. The last house we lived in we had the same thing happen. It costs US $2000 because their insurance company said it was and act of God so they wouldn't pay. We had to pay the deductible on our insurance and have them cover the damages. And the redneck neighbors stood over their fence and watched US clean up THEIR mess in our yard. They never offered to come help. SO...we took all the pieces to the trampoline and set them in THEIR front yard. Why should we have to worry with their trash! I have emailed these neighbors and of course they are not home and probably gone for the weekend. I will be on pins and needles all night for fear that thing will blow back up at my house. My hubby is gone so I have nobody to get it away from our house. I did go out and SLASH it. I was pretty angry and I figured that might prevent it from coming back at our house again. It's pretty windy outside and it is just teetering on the fence, tree and my driveway. It will just take one wind to come up underneath it to blow it against my house. UGH...

STAR WARS BIRTHDAY CARD

Birthdays are sneaking up on me again! I almost forgot this one! My son-in-law is a big Star Wars fan and I found some scrap book paper that was perfect for him. I cut out one of the squares and mounted it on the silver metallic paper and then popped it up. I then embossed HB on black paper and popped it up on top of that. The Star Wars DP has lots of metallic silver on it which is very hard to see here. It's really an awesome card but my photography skills are not the best! He will love it.
Thanksgiving will be here before I know it and I have SO much to do! I will have a house full.
Have a great day!

Let it Snow

I hope your day is going well! Today I have another xmas card that is very simple. I found these felt reindeer in packages at Michael's and decided to put them on cards. They already have the gold/bronze embellishments on them too! The paper is BoBunny and has lots of snowflake designs on it. I took my Memory Box die and cut some additional snowflakes to put on the paper. The sentiment is also Memory Box. The edging is a punch on metallic gold paper.
Have a wonderful crafting day!!!

Christmas Bells

This card was made from some papers in my stash and I love how it turned out. Another gold embossed bell image that ties in so well with the bells on the DP. I love my silk ribbon - it makes such gorgeous bows! The cream colored cardstock is pearlized so it's a very elegant touch!
Hope you enjoy your weekend! Another chance of snow here - we are at much higher elevation here in Black Forest so we tend to get all the snows that seem to miss Colorado Springs. I went down there today and it was like it never snowed there (but it did!). Came back home and once I hit Black Forest....everything was white! I love it!

Happy Birthday

Wow...what a difference a day makes. We were outside on Tuesday enjoying the warm temps and putting xmas lights around all our xmas trees outdoors (since it was so warm and we knew those days were getting limited!!) and today we had a blizzard blow through. The drifts are up to 5 feet deep and we finally got to try out our snowblower and Subaru in the snow. It's very cold - 21 degrees and yesterday it was in the 60's!!!
Here is a card for I made using some of those "Dazzles" that are metallic gold and you peel them off the gold paper and stick them on cardstock. I layered 3 different sizes for the flower on different shades of pink. They are popped up with dimensionals. The sentiment is also embossed in gold to tie it all together.
Hope your day is a warm one!

Gold Christmas Cards

As promised...a few more Christmas cards! These are simple cards with just one image that is gold embossed. I used gold metallic papers to tie them all together. The cards are a very heavy pearlized cardstock used for wedding invitations. It is gorgeous paper and perfect for holiday cards as well. The gold borders are punched with MS punches. How simple is that!
Hope all the east coast bloggers are digging out from the wet snows. What a mess that was! Hope everything is back to normal soon for you all.
Have a great week! See you again soon with more goodies!

Sending Happy Thoughts

We have a close friend from our military days who is also now a pilot with SWA. He was riding in a van to the hotel after his flight when it got tee-boned by a stolen Mercedes. The driver and passenger left the scene and they did not find them. Our friend is in intensive care in the hospital with severe injuries. It is so sad. So, here is a card for him. We pray for a speedy recovery.
The Snoopy stamp is an old stand-by stamp I use frequently for our pilot friends and family. It's by Stampabilities. The papers are SU. The sentiment is also Stampabilities.
Hope you enjoy your day!

Quick and easy holiday cards

Just a few more quick and easy cards for the holiday season! These are all from the Lost and Found Christmas pad by My Mind's Eye. I love this pad of paper and somehow I ended up with 2 pads (guess I really really liked it!) so I'm making lots of cards with these papers. The embellishments are from K & Co. and the ornament is actually a diecut cut from fabric. I whipped up about 5 more easy cards today so I hope to post some more tomorrow. Have a wonderful weekend!

Woof!

Oh...was this card fun to make!!! It's like cutting out paperdolls again. I found it on Aimee Asher's website (aimeeasher.com) where she has lots of cards and crafts that you just print and put together. There was a lot of cutting on this particular card and lots of dimensionals used to pop it all up. But, it is the absolute cutest card and I had a Westie so this card is extra special to me. I think I can find lots of people to give it to. The print out includes lots of options for various occasions. There is also an envelope as well but didn't get a picture of it.
We are finally getting our big snowstorm today but I must say I'm a bit disappointed! I don't think we got as much as they had thought but then again, it is still snowing so maybe it will accumulate before it is all over. I felt so sorry for all the cows that came by today. We have woods right beside our lot so they were huddling over in the woods to stay warm. And when I went outside they ALL just looked at me with the saddest eyes. So, I had to do something for them. I had some fresh broccoli and a bunch of celery so that was their treat. A few of them ate it but the ones I tossed over the fence went right into the snow and got buried so I don't think they will find it until tomorrow. I thought the ranchers would come take the cows back to the ranch for the winter but it hasn't happened yet. They have no shelter from the cold here or a barn with food for days like this. I'm a city girl so this cow stuff is all new to me!
On another note...I won 21 yards of 1 1/2" silk crinkled ribbon on "No time to Stamp" blog by Sharon Johnson. I am a HUGE fan of hers and love everything she does. I also purchase all my silk ribbons from her so was THRILLED to see that I won some! Thank you Sharon!!!

Blessings

This may be the only Thanksgiving card I get done this year but I had to try it! This is an Outlines stamp and it is actually all colored in - unlike how it appears. The scarecrow part of the image is actually popped up with dimensionals. There was more coloring than I like to do on this stamp but I think I can just cut the images apart next time for smaller stamps.
Hope your Monday was beautiful like our was. Almost 80 degrees in parts of the Springs but that will end real soon as we are expecting lots of snow on Tues night or Wed. I'm looking forward to it!
Have a fun and crafty week!
