I didn't forget your birthday...

Today I have a card that should have been made last week...OOPS!  My hubby's grandmother just turned 98 years old!  So, I just happened to have a special set for times like this when my memory fails me!  I just love how this card turned out and I'm sure she will have all her friends in her room to show it off.  It's a stamp set by Taylored Expressions - another favorite company of mine.  The papers are by Cosmo Cricket and the dies are all Spellbinders.

Recently I purchased a few new cookbooks...like I REALLY needed just 2 more! ( I must have a few hundred!)  I have followed Pioneer Woman's blog for a few years now and always look forward to her funny posts.  She is quite the cook and quite the photographer.  So, I was eager to get her cookbooks.  I must say they are two of my favorites now.  I have made 5 or 6 recipes already and they are all outstanding - mostly pretty simple recipes too!  But, I think I enjoy the stories and photos as much as the recipes!  She lives on a ranch so she is always cooking for all the ranchers.  If you love cooking and cookbooks the way I do...pick them up at Sams Club - that's where I got mine.  I even got one for my son who loves to cook and loves these kinds of recipes.
Have a great Friday!

But you, O Lord...

Today I have a card made using a Sizzix embossing folder for the oval image.  I also used Spellbinders dies for the oval and the flower.  The leaf is a Memory Box die.  The stamped sentiment is by Verve Stamps.  The papers are glitzy Bazzil cardstock which looks so much better IRL.
Hope you have a fun filled day!

Bloom

Today I got a stamp set that was the 16th Anniversary set made by Memory Box for Simple Pleasures - here in Colorado Springs.  The set sold out in 3 days when it was originally issued so they brought it back for a short time.  I think I will enjoy this set.  It also has a sentiment for the inside of the card and a small flower.  If you are interested in purchasing it, go online.  They will ship it out to you.  I will have to say that Memory Box has the best stamps and dies!
So, I stamped this set 2 times in black ink.  I cut out the top layer with a Spellbinders die in a flower shape - similar to the flowers on the stamped image.  I popped it up with dimensionals and colored the flowers very lightly with pink Copics.  Simple card.
Enjoy a day of crafting!  You deserve it!

Bringing you sunshine!

Joann's had a great sale online last week and I managed to find time to go through their thousands of stamps.  They have tons of stamps online (not in stores) and many are not your dept. store stamps.  I found a few Stamping Bella stamps! This is one I picked up - amongst many others!  What a cutie!  It's Hero Arts.  I added dimension to the flower with Memory Box die cuts and a punch.  The oval die cut is Spellbinders and the curly border is MS punch.  The papers are October Afternoon.
Hope you had a nice holiday.  We are slow cooking some ribs on the grill - my favorite.  I also made some home made slaw, mac and cheese, blackberry cobbler and we will throw some corn on the cob on the grill too.    Yum yum!

A Westie Puppy Card

In 6 more days I will have my new puppy.  I got this cute Westie stamp from Stampingbella and couldn't resist making a card.  At the time I made it...I had no idea who I was making it for or why I was making it.  I have since decided that I would send a note to her Mommy and Daddy a few weeks afterwards and this would be the perfect card for that.  I do love Westies!!!  They are the best...and I hope I can still say that a few weeks from now when I'm desperately in need of some energy to keep up with the puppy!
The dies are by Spellbinders.  The lacey border is a rubber stamp that has been embossed in white - also by Spellbinders.  The pink DP is by SU.
Enjoy your day and remember our fallen heroes and all those who are serving or have served in the military!  They are why we are able to do what we love to do!

Birthday Wishes

I'm back for a quick post of a card I started last week.  I've had company all week and now I'm dogsitting my son's dog for the rest of the week.  We'll be getting our new puppy in a few weeks too so I guess this is preparing me for that.  Still working on names.
This card has lots of die cuts and punches.  The dies are by Spellbinder's and Poppy Stamps (the fence on each side of the flower has been cut apart and used on each side) and the punch is by MS.  The papers are by My Mind's Eye and the stamp is Studio 6.  The ribbon is silk and I had the buttons in my stash.
Hope you have a good rest of the week!

I'm back with a Father's Day card.  My father-in-law is a gardener and this stamp is just so perfect for him.  It's a Penny Black stamp.  The flags are Spellbinders and the sentiment is Hero Arts.  The DP is SU.

Just found out my son is finally finished with his pilot training with the Navy and he is heading home for a week. He has not been able to take any leave for a few years so we are grateful he will be able to take a little time off before his first deployment in June.

We are looking forward to the arrival of our new puppy on June 2.  We are still working on names for her.  We are leaning towards Mollie or Emma.  My crafting time will be very limited in the next few months as I get her trained.  I did purchase a puppy playpen for her so she is able to be in my craft room with me.  There is just no way I can let her roam in here with the design of the room.  I "play" in the attic above our garage so the walls are sloped and there are big spaces behind my furniture where she could get lost....and I wouldn't be able to get back there to rescue her!

Have a great weekend!  And Happy Mother's Day!!!

Mother's Day Frame

Today I made a fun frame to give to a dear friend of mine for Mother's Day.  She is always sending me beautiful things so I thought I would do something special for her for Mother's Day.  I have had this frame sitting on my table since well before xmas and decided it was time to doll it up a bit.  The papers are all from My Mind's Eye.  The rest of the things are from my stash.  The flower at the top is made from lace that I rolled up and then added a pearl to the center.  There are a few stamped sentiments that are popped up with dimensionals, a few pearl butterfly stickers, and lots of buttons from my rather large collection!  This really went together rather quickly and was fun to make on a snowy day here in May!!!

Goosebumps

Today I had a little time to try the Texture Spray Resist Technique that was mentioned on the SCS homepage.  I purchased the Goosebumps Texture Spray.  I followed the directions on SCS and this is my card!  It's a simple resist technique like most of the others.  I used a few colors of distress ink and was done.
Today is my hubby's birthday but he is on a trip so we will have his Coconut Cake when he gets home.  My daughter and hubby will be coming down for the weekend too.  We are going to go to the Black Forest craft show and also the Chef's Warehouse sale this weekend.  Maybe we can slip a Sky Sox game in too!  Hope you have a fun weekend!

Sending happy thoughts

Wow...it's been awhile since I have been in my craft room.  And I thought I was going to spend the whole weekend in here!  What was I thinking!!!  Time is flying by me!  Here is a card I made using a Memory Box stamp and die as well as a few Spellbinders dies.  The sentiment is by Stampabilities.  The papers are Basic Grey.
I found a great product that I wanted to tell you about!  It's called  Glue Gloss.  It comes in a tube/bottle like lip gloss and the applicator is just like lip gloss.  It works SO WELL on these intricate die cuts.  And if you over glue it...the excess does not show up as SHINE!!!  It disappears like magic!!!  If you have experienced that before you will know exactly what I am talking about!   Sometimes it looks like you are back in kindergarten with your glueing but not so with this stuff!  I love it!  I got it at my LSS so I couldn't tell you where to find it online since I haven't shopped for it before.
Hope you have a great week!
