Be Mine

Another valentine! I keep thinking I will just make a bunch of one design and be done but I really enjoy making different ones so here is another one! This is a stamp from the hostess set of SU from 2008. I stamped it 3 times on 2 different papers. Each was cut out and popped up. The center is a heart brad. The paper is from Cloud9design and has been in my stash awhile but I still love it. I'm down to just a few scraps of it now. Have a great SuperBowl weekend ....GO CARDINALS!!! I think every television set in Arizona will be tuned in tomorrow! This is a big day for us!!!

Love you much!

I got my new SU stamps last night so was excited to get busy on some valentines. This is some Heidi Grace paper I had picked up and love. I always like the non-traditional colors for holidays! The hearts are popped up with dimensionals and the Love square is also popped up. The lace at the bottom is done with a punch by Martha Stewart. The pearls I picked up today at a brand new store that opened in Peoria today!!! I was so excited to get there since we only have one other store on this side of Phoenix! Unbelievable! I really enjoyed being able to shop in a real store rather than online like I usually have to do. The store was supposed to open at 4:00 this afternoon but people showed up at 10 am and were begging them to go ahead and open! We are desperate for a new store here so they just couldn't wait any longer. They were still setting things up but managed to get everything ready to open by noon and there were lots of happy customers.

Valentine Candy

These are some Valentine Candy Bars I got at Walmart today and then covered them with DP. The stamps are by SU and the Valentine stamp is a $1 stamp from Michael's. These are so simple to do and make a cute little gift for teachers and friends. Have fun creating!

Bringing you flowers...

This card started out as yesterday's challenge on SCS, SC213, but I changed too many things so this is how it ended up. The shapes are all the same, just placed differently and I must say, I really like it! These are some new papers I got from Basicgrey in a 6 x 6 pad called Eva. I love all the papers so much! The pink paper is by SU. I can not remember where I got the pink glitzy flowers from but I've had them for years and I'm getting low on them so hope they are something I can find again because I use them all the time and love them. (that was a long sentence!) I actually started this card yesterday and didn't get very far when my husband came home from work so that was it for the day. He was gone for 4 days so he had things he wanted to do....like go buy a new television! I would much rather have spent my time stamping but I was being a good supportive wife even though I really don't think we needed a new tv. I lost out and he got his tv. But I got a few online orders in the mail yesterday so that was fun!

Paper Pleating Challenge

Today I participated in another SCS challenge for Monday. We had to use pleated paper somewhere on our card. This was a new technique for me and with my ScorPal, it was quite easy to do. The stamp was purchased at Michael's last year and is by Acorn Marketing. I used my copic markers to color it. Someday I will have those mastered. I absolutely love the DP by K & Co. It has some glitz to it so I had to add some glitz to my flower. There really is some sparkle on the flower...I know it is hard to see. I thought the pearls added a bit of elegance to the card.

Welcome Home Troops!

My stamping madness does go to good causes sometimes and this is another card for our troops returning from Iraq. I remembered I had the eagle stamp so decided to do a card using it. It is from Cornish Heritage Farms and has seen lots of ink in it's days. I really love to do cards for our military men and women who are serving our country. I don't think they are truly appreciated for all they do so this is my way of saying thank you. This card was inspired by "Jen's Sketch" on SCS. This was a pretty easy card to do with the eagle colored with copic markers and then cut out and put on the nestabilities circle die cuts. The "freedom" is also from the same set. It was the stamp of the month for May 2008. The papers were scraps in my huge file.

Welcome Home Soldiers!

This is a very special card I am making for a squadron of soldiers returning home from Iraq. I saw the request for cards on a forum on SCS and having been a military spouse for 20 years...I felt that this was something I really wanted to do. Over half of the troops will return to NC with no family there to welcome them. So, we are making cards for them and there will also be goody bags for each of them. I put their unit name (hope I abbreviated it correctly!) on one of the balloons. I know it's not a parachute, but it's the best I could do! The stamps are by Dee Gruenig and were introduced at her last class that she taught in Albuquerque last fall for the balloon fest that weekend ...and I was so lucky to be able to be a part of it. These stamps just seemed to be perfect for this occasion. I will write a note inside to welcome each one home. I actually stamped the balloons on white paper and then cut them out. The background is done with Dee's Blending Blox which are 4 colors of ink in one pad and I just swiped them across the paper...how much easier can it be!!! It's a simple card but seemed appropriate for both males and females. Welcome home Troops! We are so proud of all you have done for this country!

Friday's challenge

The challenge for today on SCS was to use a black base for your card. I have lots of papers that really would love to see a black card so this was one of my first choices. The diecuts are from Sizzix and really made the paper pop. The glittery flowers were probably from one of those small packets of buttons and doo dads that you find at Michael's. I have them in containers in a carousel so I no longer have the packaging for them. I will probably put a sentiment on the bottom left side when I decide what the card will be used for. It could easily be a Valentine. Have a fun day!

SCS Daily Challenge

I tried the Thursday Challenge on SCS and this is my result! I took a designer paper and stamped it with my Versamark pad. I then put SU heat & stick powder on that. I heat set it. I then put DenamiDesign sparklets glitter on the complete surface and heat set it again. The glitter does not rub off now. The stamp is by Hampton Art and I colored it with my Copic markers. I had to ship my 3M tape roller back yesterday for a new one so I'm really lost without it. I'm hoping the glues I used on this glitter paper will stay put! At least I won't be sending this one out very soon and if it falls apart, I will glue it back with my new tape roller when it comes back.

Pretty in Pink

There are SO many birthdays in our family at the beginning of the year! It keeps me busy! This is another Magnolia stamp all dressed up in pink on a cold winter day. The corners are done with my Home Pro tool and brads. The paper is by Heidi Grace and is YUMMY!!! Love it! This was a pretty easy card to make and also lots of fun!

Birthday Cake

Wouldn't you love to have a birthday cake this big!!! These are Dee Gruenig's stamps and she has some wonderful techniques that she showcased at her last class in Albuquerque last fall. The stamp is colored with blending blocks which she sells in her collection. It is 4 colors in one stamp box. The stamp is then spritzed with water to give the watercolor look. I used a stencil type brush to add a little color on the edges with dry ink. I then used an aqua-flo pen to splatter some color from a set of water color paints. The inside was edged using a blending block and then stamped with the stamp.

Snoopy Rocks!

I found this Snoopy stamp in my drawer and it has never seen ink before so I decided it was time for it to get inky! I have several birthdays coming up for boys and I think this will work for a few of them. There really isn't much to it but it sure turned out cute! I used glitter brads in the corner and the black paper is glittery. I may go back and use my glitter pen to color in the orange and green on the guitars - wouldn't that be cool!
Have a great day!

Dolly Mama

I love bright colors and this stamp just demands using all of them! Dolly Mama is just too cool! The stamp is by "Stamps Happen" and are so fun to use! They are definitely stamps with an attitude! I did the black paper with one of my cuddlebug embossing folders. The DP is by 3 Bugs in a Rug. I need to find more of it!!! Just love it for so many different cards.

LOVE

This is a card I did today at my SU class. It's another one with the new SU valentine's set that I can't wait to get. The heart on the "LOVE" is a separate punch that is attached with a dimensional to stand out a bit. The heart in the "O" is also attached with a dimensional to stand out. The circle punches are several layers and are also using dimensionals. The designer paper is also in the SU valentine kit. This was a fun day at SU class with lots of valentines!

Valentine Goody Bag!

Look what I made today at my SU stamping class! This was made with 2 Top Note SU die cuts and the interior is the bottom of a small paper bag. We punched the opening with the oval punch. The stamps are from the new Valentine's Set- Love you Much- that I love (SU). This would be a cute favor for kids parties or just to give to some friends.

Happy Birthday Brittany!

Muffy wanted to do a card for Brittany for her birthday. Luckily she isn't coming over on her actual birthday because our Muffy stamps didn't come until today! We were sweating that one out but Sweet Nellie delivered all the way from Scotland in less than 2 weeks! I love it. I couldn't resist this stamp when I saw it! Muffy is the queen of this house and she has her crown on to prove it. The glitter on her crown and scarf just don't show up but I promise you it is there! The designer paper is Tickled Pink-Wonder by Three Bugs in a Rug and I really love all their papers. This was a 3 x 6 card. I found the envelopes at a local paper store and use them whenever I get the chance. Happy 22nd Birthday Brittany!!!

Just for you!

I had so much fun making this card! It's a few of my favorite colors all in one card. The stamp is Magnolia - my favorite, can you tell? The background was done with SU. The designer paper is from a pad of beautiful papers called Sultry by Basicgrey. I love them all. The corners of the card are done with my Home Pro tool. They have some of the cutest embellishments that nobody else has. The buttons are from my sewing days stash! Yes, I still have a few big boxes of buttons and I'm glad I saved them. At least they are getting used after 20 years!!!

Simple and elegant

The picture just does not do this card justice! The bottom of the card is embossed with one of the cuttlebug floral designs and a few liquid pearls were added to the centers of the flowers. The floral design is a SU stamp that is cut with the nestabilities. A sheer white ribbon is added for extra elegance. This is a very simple card to make and looks beautiful in real life!

From one Woofer to another!

This valentine is from my Muffy dog to her friend across the street that looks JUST like this doggy. Luv it! Whoever said dogs can't send valentines too!!! Well, my Muffy is sending a few this year! The dog is from Magnolia stamps. The Valentine is from Michael's dollar stamps and the other stamp is from SU. This is created from a sketch by Jan here.

Butterfly Birthday

It's been another busy day. My husband is home this week so we have been coming and going and doing things that should have been done ages ago but we kept putting off - like cleaning out cupboards in the garage. This morning we harvested a bucket full of oranges from our trees and make freshly squeezed orange juice! When you see how many oranges it takes to make a gallon of juice...you understand why OJ is so expensive in the stores. It also takes away from my stamping time (LOL) so it's not one of my favorite chores - especially since I don't really care for OJ! Anyways, this is a card I did last night. It's a bright cheery butterfly birthday card. The stamps are from SU. The paper is Blossoms and Butterflies Stack (6 X 6). There are a few rhinestone brads in the corner if you look hard...they kind of blend in with the paper! The circular punch is put on with dimensionals to make it stand out a bit more. The butterflies are stamped on cardstock and then stamped again on colored cardstock and cut out and applied with dimensionals. They were colored with Copic markers. Have a wonderful weekend!

Mouse Sympathy

My daughter's mouse died a few weeks ago after a very long life of 2 years. Evidently they usually only live about one year. Anyways, I have so many mouse stamps so couldn't resist making her a sympathy card! I had to wait awhile before I published it in case she went on my blog. I wanted it to be a surprise to her. I think she has finally figured out that I can find just about any excuse to make a card! And this was certainly one of those days where I needed an excuse! This is by no means a fancy card but it was fun to make.

Hello Kitty

This is the first Hello Kitty card I have made and isn't she a cutie pie! I love Hello Kitty and couldn't resist getting the Sizzix diecut when I saw it at 50% off at Joann's a few months ago. It's kind of a pain to do when you want more than one color but it's worth it in the end. The paper is also Hello Kitty paper in the background. I used a rhinestone brad for the center of the flower and a few pink brads for the corners. I'm not sure if this will be a Valentine or a birthday card for a special little girl. I left the inside blank so I could decide later!

Deepest Sympathy

I'm really on the roll today with my entries! This is a sympathy card I had to get done today. The stamp is one of my favorites by SU. The background paper, by Karen Foster, was my inspiration for this card. I love the colors and this flower just seemed to be perfect. The scrolly things in the corners are cuttlebug die cuts. There is actually some glitter on the flower that you can't see very well but it really does make a world of difference when you see it up close.

Birthday Book

This is a Birthday Book I did for my sister-in-law. It was done with the Bind-it-all and lots of stamps, diecuts and embellishments. The corners were done with the Home Pro tool.
