Hydrangea Card

This card was made by coloring the actual rubber stamp with Marvy markers. I used several shades of blue and green. It always amazes me how beautiful it turns out! It's a Dee Gruenig stamp. I have so many of her stamps and love them all because they are so easy to use and it looks like you spent a lot of time coloring the image! Nobody will ever know!!! The white lacy border is a punch. I used 2 different ribbons. The papers are scraps! Hope you have a cool crafty day!

A card for me

I have so many scraps of wedding related papers that I decided to do a card for me to use as a Thank You to some of my helpers at the wedding. So, this is a scrappy card!!! The ivory medallion is actually made with a Martha Stewart punch that has been trimmed a bit and then I put 4 of them together. The black frame is by Just Rite Stamps, as well as the "S" for Sherry! The inside had to have an ivory insert so I just stamped the top with a clear stamp. I can now write a note inside and it won't get lost on the black paper! OK...so this is a hint of the wedding things to come!!! I think you'll have to wait for the rest!!!! Have a fun day of crafting!

Sunshine Award

I am so excited! I just got the "Sunshine Award" from one of my blog followers. Here is a link to Mary's wonderful blog which you will enjoy as much as I do!
http://www.maryscraftroom.blogspot.com/
Mary does awesome projects so be sure to check it out! She has some great looking recipes on her blog so I will be trying a few of those in the near future! (I love to cook!)
I have been blogging for about 1 1/2 years. My main goal was to share my love of crafting with others who also have the addiction!!! It has been so much fun and I must say that is has motivated me to try to craft and blog on a regular basis. I know I have not been as dedicated lately but it doesn't mean I have stopped crafting. I have TONS and TONS of projects coming up that you will be bombarded with in October!!! I wanted to share them after the wedding! Many of these projects have created challenges - like today - and take time to figure out alternative designs! That is time consuming and can also be frustrating but it always works out in the end. I hope I can come up with a solution for my latest challenge!!!
So, thanks Mary and all my followers for hanging in there with me! I truly appreciate your dedication and support and wish you many days of happy crafting ahead!

Stamp Tapestry

This was a quick and easy card! Those are always nice to do once in awhile! The top part of the card is embossed with a folder. The bottom part is stamped with tiny peg stamps by Stamp Tapestry. They are so fun to use and everything always turns out pretty. I used a punch for the edging. The inside of the card has a pink scalloped dotted swiss Bazzil paper to highlight the front of the card! Hope you like it! Have a great weekend!

The story of our heritage

This is a book I have been working on for over a year. I did the cover today. The pages are coming along but I still have more to do. I have always been very interested in our family history and have traced our family back to the 1500's. So, I decided to do a book with pictures of many of our relatives. I don't really have too many pictures that date back past our great grandparents. But I do have the history and I just may include some of that in this book. It will be something that means a lot to me and hopefully one day our kids will appreciate it. The papers are by Graphic 45. The paper flower is made with the new Tim Holtz die cuts. The ribbon is awesome silk ribbon that I just love, love love! The tag is by 7 Gypsies and I just distressed it and mounted it on some torn brown paper. Some of the trinkets are also Tim Holtz - I do love his stuff!!! I just got his new book today and it has a wealth of information in it. It will be nice to have all of his techniques all in one book rather than hunting on his blog for things. Stay cool!!!

Summer is here!

Today is the first day of summer and we sure felt it in Arizona! I'm not sure what the high was today but it was at least 105! That's actually not too bad for us! It's when it gets over 115 that we really want to move to Alaska!

So, here is a summery card. I have this package of scalloped tag cards by The Paper Cut and am finally getting a chance to use them. The pink fence is a Martha Stewart punch. The background is a SU stamp that I have colored and dotted with pearls. Isn't she a cutie!!!

Bluebonnets

I just love bluebonnets and I have been fortunate enough to have lived in Texas during 2 different tours in the military and we always loved bluebonnet season! There is nothing like the wildflowers in Texas! When I went back to Texas last year for a SWA anniversary, I found these bluebonnet stamps and HAD to have them. They are by Deadbeat Designs. The papers are by K & Co. I added a little sparkle to the big bluebonnet but it is probably very hard to see in the photo. It adds the finishing touch in real life! Thanks for visiting. Have a great weekend!

Love is the thread

I am finally taking time out again to do a card! Yes!!! I do love that! This is a new set of stamps I ordered a few months ago and just never found the time to use. Well, today is the day! I'm a seamstress so couldn't resist getting this set of stamps. It is by Just Rite Stamps. The inside heart design is actually stamped on a smaller circle and then popped up onto the outside circle. Of course I used my Nesties after I did the stamping!!! The image is colored with Copics. The papers are by DCWV - rather old papers but I have to use them too!!! I've been busy doing some sewing for the wedding and also doing a lap quilt I had started BEFORE my daughter got engaged. My goal was to get it done this summer and I hope I meet that goal! The quilt was the inspiration for this card!

2010 Planner

This is a planner I made for xmas gifts this past year. Just never got it posted because I made quite a few of them as gifts and didn't want them to be seen before xmas. The flowers are actually cut from a French wrapping paper and I stamped the background with a stamp that had lots of handwriting on it. I stamped it with a distress ink so it would be faint in the background. The rest is just layering. The inside of the book has 12 various floral prints from the same wrapping paper for each month of the year. I put a monthly calendar in the book as well as weekly calendars to write appointments on daily. I could never live without my planner book!!! There are pictures of the inside of the book back in my Dec 09 postings. This book is just a variation of the previous books. Have a great Friday!

Dreams

Another project from early spring when I didn't have time to get everything posted. This is a book I made for my son who is in the Navy. He is currently waiting to start Navy Pilot training. He has dreamed of flying since he was 18 months old! This is a book I made showcasing his dreams as he was growing up. I made him a flight suit when he was 18 months old and he wore that thing until he was in so much pain from it cutting him in two. (He was out of diapers at 18 months so there was no padding to help!!!) Unfortunately I did not take any pictures of the inside pages but it was really cute. I had tons of pictures of him as he was growing up in flight suits, playing simulator games, going to the flying squadron with his Dad...and on and on. It has been a life long dream of his to fly airplanes. So, that is how this book came about. I'm sure his wife appreciates it more than he does!!! The "dreams" nestie was airbrushed to give a cloud effect. The airplane is a diecut. Pretty cute, huh?

Fun Pin

I was going through my pictures and found a bunch that I had not posted yet so will try to post a few in the next few days. This is a pin I made at a stamping convention in February. The base of the pin is a Tim Holtz frame. We cut out a word from the dictionary and then covered it with Crystal Lacquer and then put clear glitter on top. The rest of the pin is made from lots of charms and flourishes that were glued on. It was so much fun to make. No stamping but a fun little project and a reflection of me and the things I like. Have a great day and I'll see you back here tomorrow!

Hang in There!

I'm on a roll!!! Two days in a row I have cards to share!!! I spent a good part of the day doing research only to find out that I won't end up doing what I had hoped would be much cheaper to do. I wanted to mail Brittany's wedding invitations in boxes since the mail service seems to destroy everything that comes into their hands - at least around here. I found some I really liked and decided on how to embellish them...only to later discover that it would cost about $2.37 to mail each one. That idea was quickly scrapped! It would have been so beautiful too!!! Oh well!

So here is a card I made for a special friend who just had surgery this past week. It is a perfect card for her and I know she will love it. The flowers actually have Flower Soft on them so they are 3D.

Papers: Stampin'Up Stamps: Stampendous Ink: Memento, Copics Accessories: Flowers, Flower Soft, Dots, ribbon

The Lord Bless You!

Before I forget...I must say that I am very excited to have one of my cards published in a stamping online magazine! The magazine is Scrapbooknewsandreview.com. You will have to subscribe to it to see my card but eventually I will put it back on my blog. This is my third publication so I'm pretty happy. I only wish I had more time to concentrate on getting more things published but I don't think it will happen this year as I had hoped. I spent the past week working on some new drapes for my living room and dining room. I still have lots of sewing to do for the wedding so that will be upcoming too. Enough chat....this is a card for my sister-in-law who really needs a boost. She is going through some very tough times and needs lots of prayers and support. So this is for her. The card was stamped and then airbrused with a light lavender Copic marker. The flourish is part of a butterfly design I cut on my Silhouette. I didn't use this part for a wedding item so saved it for another use. I knew I could find a way to use it!!!

Paper: Pink Paislee and other cardstocks

Stamps: Stampendous

Other: Flourish cut from Silhouette, rhinestones, ribbon
