I'm so sorry

I started this card about a week ago and never got it finished.  Not sure how far I will get with this posting.  I have a helper who is sitting on my lap watching every move the arrow makes on the computer screen and trying to chase it.  Yes, Kaila is on my lap.  I'm trying to gradually get her used to my craft room.  It's amazing what she can find to entertain her!  This puppy is one intelligent creature!
So this is a Whipper Snapper stamp and the sentiment is by Paper Smooches.  Nothing fancy here...but I got it done!!!  I'm working on my xmas cards when I can so I have been doing a little crafting on the side!
I am trying to get back to using my Silhouette since our big move.  The software has changed so I'm starting over.  It's for the better though...I'm just a bit challenged on these programs!  I'm motivated so we'll see how it goes!

So here is a card I made for my sister-in-law who has just recently had 2 surgeries in the past few weeks.   For my followers, you may recall that she has had numerous hip surgeries.  Well, this last surgery at the end of July ended up getting infected within 2 weeks.  So, they had to go back in and clean it out.  Well, it got infected again.  It is a very bad Staph infection this time - not MRSA.  But, Staph infections can take a very long time to clear up too so it's another long wait.  They are hoping they don't have to go back in to take out the metal appliances.  Usually it is done but in her case, they are not sure how many more surgeries her body can handle.  So, she need lots of prayers.  If you are interested in sending a card to her, here is her address:
Regina Link
308 41st Ave. Place NW
Hickory, NC 28601
If you think it is silly to send cards to someone you don't even know....well, you are wrong!  I have been doing it for years and have actually gotten thank you notes back from a few saying how much they appreciated getting a card!  And I know my sister-in-law appreciates them.  This is the only sunshine in her life right now and it means the world to her.
SO...this is a card with October Afternoon papers that I SO love.  The stamps are by StampinBella.  The edging is a die by Cherry Lynn Designs that is supposed to be used to make a flower.  Such a fun card!  Have a fun day!

Die Organization

It's so good to be back in my craft room today for a short while.  My grand doggy left this afternoon.  It was a rough week.  Kaila wanted to play and Bella refused.  Bella was pretty down in the dumps the whole time. I think she was pretty disappointed she wasn't the only child (dog) anymore.  So, she did lots of pouting and was quite grumpy.  Kaila finally decided this last day that she would not put up with her anymore and started fighting back.  It was pretty funny.  So...this is about all I could do this past week...organize my hundreds of dies!  Yes, hundreds!  I purchased a plastic container at Staples for about $6.  Then I sent my hubby to Home Depot to pick up some "Vent Covers".  They are sheets of magnets - 3 to a pack.  I cut them up to fit my dividers I made out of some very heavy cardstock my daughter got from her work.  It's actually packaging used for frozen foods, but it hasn't been printed yet. Anyways...I cut each sheet into 6 pieces about 5 x 4.  I got 18 pieces out of one package for $4.47.  Can't beat that!  It's the cheapest way to get sheets of magnets!  I then punched out the divider labels and organized the dies a little better.  Looks like I need to find a better way to attach them...the first one is falling off!  I have some good glue so that won't be a problem.  I think I am going to love this!!!  I have all my dies in one spot!

Just a note

Here is a note card with the background floral by Hero Arts and the sentiment by Paper Smooches.  I stamped the background paper with distress ink and colored in the flowers with markers.  Then I stamped the flowers again so I could pop them up.
Hope you have a fun week in store!  It's been cooler here so I'm hoping that continues.  My garden sure enjoyed the warmer temps - I finally harvested a few zucchini and peppers.  Maybe we will have some tomatoes before the snows come back!!!  I sure have lots of green ones!  Have a great week!

Floral beauties

This is one of my new stamp sets I got at Archiver's on their big 43% off sale.  It's a Hero Arts stamp and die set.  The flowers are popped up with dimensionals but the greenery is not.  The frame is a Sizzix embossing folder.  The inks and papers are SU.
I've got so many projects in the works and not enough play time!  I started a wool applique quilt a few weeks ago and try to work on that when I can't get in my craft room but can sit and "dogsit".  It doesn't always go as well as I like...Kaila has learned to enjoy pulling my threads and running with them!  It's amazing what entertains a puppy - usually everything but her own toys!  My granddog (daughter's dog) will be coming to stay for a week so I will be doubly pooped!  I can't say I'm looking forward to it with a puppy and an older dog but guess they will work things out.  Bella will probably try to hide from Kaila so she won't be bothered.  I don't think that will work well with Kaila!  It shall prove interesting - and exhausting for me!
Have a fun weekend!

Aw, Shucks

Today I have a card to share that I made for a pilot friend from over 25 years ago while we were stationed at Homestead AFB in Florida - before the hurricane came through.  Just found out he had a mild stroke so I thought I would send a card to cheer him up.  I just happened to have lots of airplane stamps for the pilots in my family so that was nice.  The airplane is Whipper Snapper Designs and the sentiment is from a set of Mickey Mouse stamps - not sure of the manufacturer but thought it was so perfect for Ron.  The papers are SU.
The heat is back in Colorado.  We had about a week of cooler temps and rain showers every afternoon but I think those days are gone again.  I took my little girl (puppy) out to meet some cows that occasionally come by our house and she was so amazed at how big they were.  As I got closer to them, she was shaking like a leaf.  We have a barbed wire fence going up the side of our land so they come right close to us.  We haven't seen them much this summer.  This city girl (living in the country!!!) kind of misses seeing them!!!
Have a cool day!

Teapot Challenge Card

This is a card for the Teapot Challenge over on SCS.  It is for a young girl who was hit by a train - and survived!  She was listening to her IPOD and didn't hear the train.  She had severe brain injuries but is improving daily.  The stamp is by Penny Black.  I added some glitter to her lace on her dress and her barettes.  The lacy edging is a Memory Box die.  The DP is Imaginisce.
Today at Archiver's they had all their stamps 43% off!  I love those sales!  Got lots of new stamps so hopefully one of these days I will find time to ink them up!  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday

I seem to be bombarded with birthdays this time of the year.  Nothing like getting it done at the last minute!  The flowers were stamped 3 times, cut out and popped up.  (SU)  The background stamp is Inkadinkado.  The sentiment is a die and stamp by Taylored Expressions.  The big background paper is Graphic 45.  It's silk ribbon to tie it all together.  Love how it turned out.
My other sister-in-law whom I have written about many times on this blog, just had her 9th hip replacement surgery today.  The doctor was optimistic that things will be better this time.  We pray for this to be the last surgery and a speedy recovery.  It's been a very hard journey for her and she still has a very very long road ahead of her before she will be able to even walk again.  Keep her in your prayers.
Have a crafty day!
