Father's Day Card

I usually have several requests for Father's Day cards so thought I better get started on some. I got this idea off SCS and give credit to Gloria M for that. I did make lots of changes to it but loved the foil idea which I recently learned. The heavy duty foil is embossed in a Sizzix folder. The anchor is stamped and cut out. The ship's wheels are stamped on the navy blue speckled paper. the trim is a Martha Stewart punch. The stamps are Stampabilities. Thanks for looking!

WU220 Friends are like Flowers

This is a card I did for the "Ways to use it" challenge on SCS. We had to use buttons. Well, I have 2 stamps that are just buttons. I have 108 Copic markers and could not find colors to match this paper the way I wanted. SO...I finally gave up and got frustrated and just put a big flower in the center. Too easy! I was so excited about using those stamps but it just didn't work out. Anyways...the flourishes are done with silk ribbon and punches with a Bazzill template. It went quickly even though it looks hard! The sentiment is by Yvonne Albritton and was perfect for my buttons rubber stamps that didn't quite work out for me! The paper is DCWV. Hope you like it!

SC230 Sketch Challenge

Today I thought I would get a challenge done EARLY and boy was this one a doozy! I had already colored this sketch last night so that part was easy. But, getting all the shapes together was a bit more demanding of my "still asleep" brain! My card ended up being a 6 1/2 inch square card but I do have a 7 inch envelope so I am ok - except for the additional postage required!!!
The stamp is a Sugar Nellie stamp and it is colored with Copic markers. The image is cut with a Nestie. The papers are from SU and Paper Studio. The sentiment stamp is from SU. The white cardstock is a textured and speckled paper that was given out free at a Creating Keepsakes Convention. It was perfect for this card although you probably can't see the details of it here.

Tropical Breeze CC220

This was the Color Challenge for today on SCS. We had to use these 3 colors and create a card. I found the perfect DP by Debbie Mumm and it is really what makes this card. The border was already on the paper. The stamp is an old one by Katie & Co. The palm tree is popped out with dimensionals. The solid color papers are all by SU.

Mojo88

I haven't done a Mojo Monday challenge in weeks so thought I would do one today since I have some stamping time. The DP is by Imaginisce and this is a reversible paper and these are the sides of it - too cute! The stamp is by Stampendous. I should have colored the bee...will do that before I use this card!!! The white is embossed with a Swiss Dots folder.

Baby Book

This is another book I just made for a new baby. It is put together with media folders purchased from Uline. There are 3 that are glued together and then all the pages and pockets are embellished. There are 3 big tags in the first folder and the last folder. The middle folder has 3 of the SU envelopes with special verses on them. The papers are all from SU which makes it easy. Hope you have a great week!

Birthday Book

This is a birthday book I made in a class last week. It is made using media folders. There are three different ones used and they can be purchased here. I have a source for a similar folder that works very well too. It is Uline. The folders are glued together and the pages are decorated with pockets, frames, cards and all kinds of embellishments. It took about 1 1/2 hours to make! It is absolutely adorable! I took the class at Crop Girls in Peoria, Arizona. Have a great weekend!

Infant card

This card was not an easy one to do but I think it will be appreciated. The baby booties were embossed in a folder and then colored lightly with chalk. The background is a Swiss Dots embossing folder. The sentiment stamp has no identification on it so I have no idea where it came from. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family during a very difficult time.

GRAD BOOK

This is a busy year for graduations and weddings! I keep thinking the end is near and then forget that the east coast kids are in school until June! So, they just keep coming! This is a cute little book I did for a close friend's daughter whom I've known for over 22 years. We met at one of our duty stations while our husbands were in the military. We have kept up though all these years! I made the book with 2 chipboards for the front and back covers and the pages are just glued on file folder paper to give them more weight. There are lots of places for her to add photos and memorabilia and I have also added lots of embellishments and doo dads! These are so much fun to make! I hope to get back a bit sooner and post another book I made. It's a birthday book. I have been so busy making a bolero type jacket for a formal. I bought the dress but wanted a jacket to go over it. I made the jacket and then have been sewing tons of beads on it to match the dress. It is really turning out cute - but it's lots of work and I'm enjoying every minute of it!

I'm not sure how to get this picture up with the others so if you have any suggestions...please let me know! Have a great weekend and remember our fallen heroes!

Pink and Black

I feel so guilty not posting something regularly so I dug a card out of my stash to post today. This is a favorite of mine and easy to do. The stamps are by SU. The circle is stamped and then punched with the SU scallop punch. A big rhinestone brad is put in the center and the circle is put on with dimensionals. The pink design is actually stamped on a square of paper and then the black corners are added. The pink square is backed with another black square. The DP is by Paper Studio. What a fun card! Things have been crazy busy here but I hope to get a card made tomorrow - I'm having withdrawal symptoms!!!

Foil Fun!

I'm back! I had a dear stamping friend here for the past several days so I haven't had time to do any cards for my blog. We had such a great time hitting every stamping/scrapbook store in the Phoenix area! We were like two little girls in a candy store! Anyways, this is a card we made after watching Stamp TV by Gina K. She used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and embossed heavy duty foil. It is very fragile and you really have to be careful handling it. She also used the metallic rub on it but I forgot about that part so it's just the foil here. The floral design is by Inkadinkado with SU ink. I stamped an extra print and cut out the little flower and used dimensionals to put it in the center of the big flower. The black centers of the flowers are stick-ons. The oval punch is one of the new ones by SU and so is the sentiment. This was a fun card to make and I'm sure I will use the idea on future cards. Wouldn't it be fun to do a man's card with this idea?!

WT217 Kraft paper challenge

This is incredible! 2 cards in one day after almost a week with no cards! I really feel the NEED to be stamping again! It's also great stress relief! Here is my card for SCS "Ways to Use it" challenge for today. We had to use Kraft paper. I got this new stamp on sale from Cornish Heritage Farms and decided to use it. I colored it with my Copic markers. The corners are SU punches and the side trim is Martha Stewart punches. Pretty simple card yet elegant!

Stinkin Birthday

Wow! It seems like ages since I have been stamping! My world has been turned upside down recently by a few shocking events so my mind has been elsewhere. I won't go into any details yet, in case a family member reads this and wonders why they haven't heard yet! I don't think any of my family reads this but the one time they did would be when I posted some news that has not been made public yet. So...that is that!
I have had this card in my stash from my earlier days of stamping. I added some things to it to be a little more up to speed with my stamping style these days. The stamps are by SU but I have no idea where the paper came from. This is actually a card for a friend's granddaughter who is graduating next week. I think she will like it. I may have to go back and do a white eye. I'm not sure why he has a red eye!!! Anyways...have a great day!

Graduation cap

It's that time of the year again when your mailbox is filled with graduation and wedding invitations. I found this idea on SCS here. It is the cutest and easiest card to make! I just love it. I had to do a little fine tuning after I cut it out but it was easy. The top opens up to reveal a place to put a gift card or cash. I used a stamp to cover up the brad from the tassel I made. This was so easy...it's a keeper! Have a great week!

Fly Boy Birthday

Today was such a wonderful day! I got a flyer in the mail with coupons for many shops up at the outlet mall a few days ago. I didn't really pay much attention to it as it's about 30 minutes away. Well, I was sitting on "hold" on the phone this morning and the flyer was on my desk. I started reading it and there was a small coupon for FREE tickets to the Phoenix Symphony for the first 50 people who present the coupons. Well, it had been a few days since I got the flyer so I decided to call and see if there were any left. Yes, there were! I headed up there a few hours later and got my 2 tickets that were $62 seats! I was so excited! Then I went shopping in a few of the store and got more freebies and some super good deals. It's so nice to have days like this once in awhile. Then I came home and fixed a big dinner to take to my neighbor. She raved and raved about it so I think I did well! Then the UPS man brought me some new stamps! SO, I really wanted to make a card for my husband's birthday tomorrow. This stamp is perfect for him since he is a pilot. And the little doggy is perfect too as our "MUFFY" dog is always at his side. This is a Penny Black stamp and I got it from PB stamps and the logo is on my side bar. The paper is DCWV - Nana's Kids. It's colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is by SU. Hope you have a day like mine!!!
