My little witch!

OK...so this isn't a stamping project but it IS a crafting project!!!  I made this cute little witch costume for Kaila a few weeks ago.  We finally managed to get her to slow down and let me put it on her!  I have a cute little hat too but I KNOW that will never go on her head!!!  She didn't mind the costume at all once she got it on.  She wore it for several hours before we took it off for her to go chase her cousin in the snow.  I didn't want to get water spots on the satin.  So, we'll see how it goes on Halloween night!  Not sure yet how I will manage her by myself as she LOVES everybody that comes to the door and wants to jump all over them.  We don't get many kids so maybe it won't even be an issue!
Happy Halloween from Kaila and I!!!

Halloween Candy Jars

Here is a quick Halloween treat I made.  These are faces that I cut with my Silhouette and just put on the jars I purchased from Walmart.  Added a few ribbons and candy and they were done!  I ordered the candy from Nuts.com.   Have a great weekend!

More Twisted Halloween cards

I made quite a few of these twisted Halloween cards.  I decided to pick a few views of 3 different cards to share today.  These are really fun cards to make!  I used all sorts of embellishments and a few stamps here and there.  It's a great way to use up some of your stash and have fun doing it!

We had temps in the high 70's and low 80's today.  Thursday and Friday will be much much much colder - and snow is in the forecast too.  I must say I am looking forward to the change!  The weather should be warm again for Halloween so all the trick-or-treaters will be able to get out and get their goodies!  Kaila will be a witch and she has NO interest in putting on her cute costume I made her.  I think the sound of velcro scares her so she runs away as soon as I get the dress out.  Maybe one day I will get a picture of her but it's not looking too good!

Holiday gift bag

While my hubby was setting up my new computer, I worked on some gift bags for the holidays (and tried to keep Miss Kaila out of trouble!!!).  These are just kraft paper bags from Hobby Lobby.  I had already cut the doggy out with my Silhouette and added a little glitter to his collar.  The other diecuts are from a sheet of cardstock with punch-outs that has been in my stash awhile.  I added the dog paw ribbon to the top.  I also made a diecut and put the recepient (doggy's name) on it.  It is attached up at the top with the bow so it looks like a collar tag.  I have several more of these to make for all the doggies in the family.
We are having a beautiful day here in Colorado so we decided it was time to get started on putting up some of our xmas lights.  It's much more pleasant putting them up when it is warm than when it is freezing cold and windy.  So, we got the ones up on all the trees in the front.  We still have lots left to do but did get a good start on it.  Bill is gone so much so we have to do things when we can and our days of warm weather are numbered!  Enjoy your day!

Trick or Treat

Another Halloween card today.  This is a tag that I made from some Tim Holtz paper.  The background of the tag is his paper.  I distressed the edges with purple ink.  The diecuts are from my Silhouette.  The trick-or-treat badge at the top is a stamp and die by Making Memories.  The spider is a glittery foam I had in my stash.  The cute witch is by Graphic 45.  I added a bit of glittery orange tulle behind her.  I stamped the spiderweb with a very old stamp and I don't have the manufacturer.
I got a new computer for my craft room today so lots of learning to do.  My ancient computer got way too slow for me to operate the programs I use for crafting so it was time to update.  It's amazing how much better this is!
Have a fun weekend!

Just buzzin' by to say...

Yesterday in the newspaper there was an article about a 12 year old boy who was going to have brain surgery.  He was in a bad accident 6 years ago and has been in and out of surgery since.  His Dad is in the military so the family just moved to Colorado and he will have to undergo more major surgery.  They didn't know many people so the newspaper put out a card request to help him get through the surgery.  Of course when I saw that, I jumped on it.  I enjoy sending out cards to those in need.  So here is my card.  The skateboard dude is a SU stamp.  The papers are all from a pad by Basicgrey.  I used a Spellbinders die for the pennants.  The sentiment is also SU.  The colors are more vibrant in real life.  I'm off the the mailbox to get this out to him!
Have a fun day!

Twisted Halloween

It's so good to be back in my craft room for a short while.  I made a bunch of these "twisted greeting cards" for Halloween and just love how they turned out.  They were so much fun to make using all the embellishments I have in my stash.  The card is made starting with a half sheet of cardstock (4 1/4 x 11) that is cut lengthwise.  From there you fold the card diagonally from one corner to the other.  By doing this you create a  pocket for lots of fun embellishments. The card is then folded in half and is ready to decorate.  I used lots of scraps, stickers, die cuts and things cut from my Silhouette.  The house, bats, witch and witch legs were all cut from my Silhouette.  I popped up lots of the embellishments for added fun.
Have a fun week!

Ooga Booga!

On occasion I enjoy getting unique cards and crafts from Aimee Asher online.  I found these cute candy bar wrappers to use for my Halloween trick-or-treaters.  We had 22 kids last year so there aren't many to do.  If we have more than that....well, they will just get theirs naked!  So, I printed these and then just taped them together and crimped the ends.  I added hair to the top.  The eyes and noses are popped out with dimensionals so they REALLY are pretty cute!!!

Today my sweet little Kaila turned our house into a snowy mess.  She got a hold of a toilet paper roll that was FULL FULL FULL.  We have the kind that you just slip the tissue onto so they are perfect for little devil dogs to remove and carry off to all parts of the house!  Bill was here.  I was here.  It was quiet.  We were on our computers in different rooms.  OMG...you can't imagine the fun she was having!  She is really into tearing things up into a million pieces.  She LOVES that!  It's her newest hobby!  Well, my floors were white, white white!!!  We were both on our hands and knees trying to clean up the mess that she made in the matter of just a few minutes!  No kidding!  What a mess!  So now we keep the doors to bathrooms closed!

There is a link at the bottom of my blog for a wonderful craft store I have discovered that has really good deals on paper crafting supplies and all crafts for that matter.  They run sales where everything is 30% off occasionally!  They have a very good assortment of everything.  It's my new favorite place to shop!!!
Have a better day than me!!!

Best witches

October is flying past me!  This is a card I made with some leftover fabric from Kaila's Halloween costume!  She will be the most adorable witch on Halloween!!!  When I get pictures, I will post them.  So this was some of the fabric that I just tied together with ribbon for the witch dress.  The boots and hat are Spellbinders diecuts with added bling.  I got the idea from Pinterest although mine is quite different from what I recall seeing there.
I have lots of other Halloween cards to post but wanted to wait until I mailed them out before posting.  Lots of my friends also follow my blog.  Wouldn't want to spoil it for them!
Have a great day!

Just found out my "Witch Boot" is a SCS "favorite" of the week!  Thanks so much!

Spooky tree

Another Halloween card to share today made with diecuts.  The ghost was cut with my Silhouette and the tree and bat are diecuts by Sizzix and Cheery Lynn.
Kaila is doing well after her surgery.  She was one sad looking puppy when we picked her up.  By mid-morning the next day, she was back to her happy self.  We have to keep her from jumping for 7 days!  That's quite a challenge but we have managed to put big things on all the furniture so she can't get up.  It's working so far although she has still attempted to get around them a few times.  I will be so glad when this is over!!!
We got a little snow this morning and are hoping and expecting to get more tonight.  We are loving the change of seasons here in Colorado.  We took a ride to the mountains last week and the leaves were really beautiful.
Have a great weekend!

Witch Boot

I made this a few weeks ago and never got it posted.  The boot is actually several pieces that I cut on my Silhouette machine.  I laced up the front tab using some orange seam tape type ribbon.  I cut a separate full boot for the back of the card so it will open up and also stand up on it's own.  The black at the bottom of the boot is actually a velvet dotted swiss type cardstock which is not real visible in the photo but it does add a lot to the character of the boot.
Today my Kaila is at the vet all day getting fixed.  It's a hard day for Mom!  She had to fast since 7 pm last night so she was not real happy when she didn't get her "good morning" treats this morning.  I also decided I would fast too and go get my cholesterol checked this morning - can't bear to eat in front of my hungry puppy!!!   My doctor took me off Crestor a few months ago and of course my cholesterol shot up through the roof.  So now I have been on slow release Niacin.  I am anxious to see the results.  There are now links to Diabetes for women using the statin drugs so he wanted me off of them.  High cholesterol runs in my family so I am doomed even if I eat a healthy diet.
Have a great day!

For you

Today I made a card to put with one of the pumpkins I crafted several posts ago.  My husband's grandmother will be 100 years old next year and I try to send her little things now and then.  They are always big hits at her retirement home!  So this was made with several dies.  I honestly don't recall the company for the pumpkin die since I cut it several weeks ago.  I do not have time to categorize everything by company name so please forgive me for that!  The stamp is by Just Rite and that die is Spellbinders (I do have some memory left!!!)  I added a few fall leaves inside the card cut from Tim Holtz die set called Autumn Gatherings.
Hope you have a great week!  We may get some snow this weekend so I'm pretty excited about that!  And my hubby will be home to blow it off the driveway so that makes it even better!!!

Happy Haunting

It's October and I'm back with a card after quite a long break.  I've had company this past week so it left no time for working in my craft room.  We did lots of day trips (and saw SNOW in September!) and Kaila was SO SO good in her car seat!  She has learned to LOVE car trips and jumps in the car every chance she gets and hops in her car seat.  Unfortunately she will probably not enjoy her car trip to the vet this week when she has her little female surgery.  But, it has to be done and I am pretty nervous about it even though I know it's a minor surgery.
So...here is a card I whipped up this morning.  It's all die cuts from Spellbinders or things I cut with my Silhouette.   The sentiment is quite old and I think it is from Papertrey Ink. I popped up several of the die cuts for added dimension.
Hope you have a great week.  I HOPE to get back to crafting on a more regular basis now!  We'll see how that goes!
