Have a great rest of the week!

I got BOO-ed last night! It was a good BOO too! I found a plate full of WARM Snickerdoodle cookies at my front door. There aren't too many left today! We managed to devour them! Well, I got a new cookbook a few days ago and was dying to try these new "cake pops". It is an awesome book and evidently just came out. I found some Halloween pops to make and decided to do ghosts - most appropriate for this occasion! They were simple to make but rather time consuming (about half a day of fun and play!!!). I could not find a black edible ink pen like the book suggested for making the faces. I tried the black gel - it never dried so I couldn't use that. So, I resorted to some tiny chocolate sprinkles I had for cookie decorations. They worked. I wrapped the ghosts in lollipop wrappers that I had from other occasions and tied with Halloween ribbons. They are still just too cute....even with the not so ghostly faces! I think the recipients will be happy.
Here is another Halloween craft from my friend Becky! Isn't it just TOO TOO cute! It is made from one sheet of cardstock that is 5 inches by 10 1/2 inches. It is scored at the 2, 5, 7 and 10 inch markings on your score board. It is then scored one inch across for the bottom of the box. It's just a matter of folding on folds and cutting all the corners up to the one inch crease to fold the bottom of the box. Hope that makes sense. The black hair is cut from a "grass" die cut! You could always cut your own hair too. The eyes are from 3/4" circle punch and then google eyes are glued on. The nose is a circle punch that I just folded and glued on. The face is made with markers. I found the black shreds at the Party Store - they are hard to find!!! Most stores don't carry black.

A friend of mine came over today and we made this really awesome Halloween Luminaria. The tutorial was on SCS this week but my true inspiration came from a blog by Ila which can be found here. She did an awesome job on her luminaria!!! So, this is our version. The highlight of mine was the sparkly black paper I used. It really MADE it! I used various stamps and also several Halloween stickers. The spider is so COOL too!. This was such a fun project to make and we had such a great time! Tomorrow I'll be back for another Halloween project that my friend showed me! Thanks Becky!!!
I just have a few more Halloween cards to make and my time is getting short! This is a stamp by The Paper Studio. The sentiment is from Michaels $1 bin. The web punch is by Martha Stewart. The DP is by Cloud 9 Design. Hope you have a great day and hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with a fun Halloween project!!!
I have had these chipboard bulbs for a few years and thought I would find something to do with them! I traced around the chipboard and then just cut several pieces of DP to fit. I cut each of those into pieces and mixed and matched to put on each side of the bulb. I added lots of embellishments - stickers, bling, ribbons, flowers, buttons....and I tied them all together and it was done in a matter of 30 minutes or less!
Here are some quick and easy Christmas ornaments I made. I purchased the clear ornaments from Michaels. In most stores they have rub-ons for putting on ornaments on the same row. They are just over $1 for a strip to make 4 ornaments and maybe a few extra rub-ons for another ornament. So, these were just rubbed on and they were done. I added a red ribbon to hang from the tree. You could also add some bling or maybe a bow at the top. I felt a bow covered up a bit of Frosty so I left it off.
Today was one of those days that you don't want to have too many of! I usually get up and get on the computer before eating breakfast. I leave my computer on at nights most of the time. Well, my computer had the "original" screensaver (from when I purchased it!!!) on it when I looked at it this morning and most of my desktop icons were gone. I sell Avon and my program for putting in orders was a trial version - not the one I use! I had an order going in this morning. Everything was lost. I was in a state of panic. Of course my husband left on a trip at 4 am today for a week. I thought about it awhile and was really getting nervous. I decided to shut off my computer and see if that would fix it. Guess what? It did! I was SO happy. You just can't imagine!!! I have no idea what happened but it was pretty scary!
Another Halloween card for my stash! I think I still have a few more to make before it's too late. I'm short on time so this was a pretty simple card to make. I found the scaredy cat in a set of stickers at Michael's. I air brushed a little of the background and mounted her on a few nesties. The rest is easy. The DP's are by SU and Cloud 9 Design.
Happy 10-10-10 day! So this is a Thanksgiving card - I think it's my first for this year. The pumpkin is a SU stamp that is colored with Copics. The DP is from my stash and is by DCWV. The scalloped nestie is one of the new ones and the punch is by Martha Stewart. The green cardstock is by Bazzill. Have a great week!
This is my card for Mojo Monday this week. The flower stamp is by SU. The sentiment is a Just Rite Stamp. The center of the flower has black pearls which are so pretty in real life! The black cardstock is an embossed paper. The floral border at the bottom is a Martha Stewart punch that has been highlighted with pearls. The DP is by BoBunny.
Another October birthday card to make before it is too late! Of course it's a male card and this one was actually fun to make. I went to a LSS and found some fun things today so my sewing that I had planned to do today....has not happened yet! I found these punch-out designs that you just mount on your cards. They can be made 3 D or left flat. I made this one partially 3 D but it's really hard to see from the photo. The right side of the card and front fender is popped up. I love how this turned out and also how simple it was to make. The company is also online - Kanbancrafts.com.
Well, I'm still trying to figure out these darn contact lenses!!! I've tried monovision contacts with absolutely no satisfaction. They went in the trash after one week! Next I went to multifocal lenses - with much improved vision but still not quite as happy as I would like to be. Now I'm trying a distant lenses in one eye and nothing in the other eye. I see fairly well without reading glasses but I see a little better with them. So, I use my readers if I need them with this set up. Not sure I like it either! I think the doctor's office is getting tired of me! I guess since I've had excellent vision for most of my life, it's going to be hard to satisfy me. I really hate glasses. I think I should have found a better eye doctor who has lots of experience with contact lens users. My doctor is in Sun City, AZ - so most of the patients are probably senior citizens and don't use contact lenses. But, when we were looking for an OPTHAMOLOGIST, he was the only one listed and I don't even think he is an Opthamologist! Kind of upsets me because that is what I am paying for. Both my husband and I have some eye history that needs to be followed by an opthamologist rather than an optomotrist so that is why we went this route. UGH... Getting old is not fun!!!
Another Halloween card for today...got to get caught up! The witch shoes are an old $1 Michael's stamp and the other stamp is Hero Arts - I think! The purple link is a die cut and the black border is a Martha Stewart punch. The DP is by Cloud 9 Design. Pretty simple card and that's what I like!
I'm getting behind with my Halloween cards so I checked out todays sketch challenge and thought I should be able to come up with a card for Halloween using it. This ghost stamp is several years old and I seem to come back to it every year. As long as I use it in a different design, it really doesn't matter now, does it? The "BOO" is a new stamp from Waltzingmouse Stamps. It's just stamped in black on purple paper. Pretty awesome! The border at the bottom is from a DP full of borders. It's DCWV paper from a few years ago too. Got to use that stuff up!!! Have a great day!
I love hot air balloons and see them quite frequently flying over my house. As the weather gets cooler in Phoenix, the hot air balloons become a part of everyday scenery here. Sometimes I count 15 or 20 balloons! So, this is a card I made for a publication call. It obviously didn't get approved but that's ok! I still love it even though they didn't! The stamps are by Prickley Pear and they also have matching die cuts for the balloon. The papers are so perfect for this and are in a pad by KaiserCraft. The balloon tickets down the side of the card were also in the pad so it's a real fun pad of paper - especially for some of those male cards that are so hard to make. I think this one will be great for a male recipient.

Well, this is what I have been doing the past few weeks. The first picture is my daughter's piano recital dress when she was 5 years old. She is now 23! It has been hanging in closets all these years so when I decided to use her bedspread (damask design) in the guest bedroom...I thought about her dress. I smocked it many years ago with hopes of one day showcasing it. This is the day! These two items - the bedspread and the dress - were the inspiration for the room. I bought 2 really nice nightstands and also a vanity table (I told my husband it was a desk, so he approved it! He still thinks it's a desk!). I found a piano picture in my daughter's closet that had red ballet shoes sitting on the keyboard....so I put that up! Then I decided to cover a pair of her pointe shoes in red and black. That is what is hanging beside the vanity table. She has about 17 more pairs and at $100 a pop....I didn't mind decorating them at all! It beats tossing them! She is now paying for all those years of dancing on pointe - hip surgery within the month! So...this is why I have not been posting as often! We still have more work to do but we are getting there! I promise I will post a card next!
