Another Kleenex Box Cover!

I'm so sorry it has taken me so long to get back here again! It's just been one thing after another trying to get moved in. We have sold our home 5 times in the past 2 months and 4 deals have fallen through for one reason or another. Appraisals are a nightmare in Arizona. It is a unreal what we have been through with the sale of our home there - and it's not over yet! We have tons of buyers and lots of decent offers...we just don't have good appraisers. I guess most of it has to be that 45 out of 60 homes in the Phoenix area are foreclosures so when you have a beautiful home in mint conditions...the lenders are very leary of it and are all over the appraisers to not appraise the homes for too high. It's crazy! We are now having to get a second appraisal on the last offer because the lender is suspicious! So, we live on pins and needles!
So, here is the other cover I made. These are just so easy and with lots of room for creativity - which you won't see here!!! You could really do some fancy embellishments and stamping on them but I was short on time so this is what I did. I just took some fancy papers with lots of glitz on them and cut them to fit. I added some rick rack trim and a ribbon. That's it! It is really pretty in real life but I used my old camera so it's not the best picture.
I have lots and lots of sewing projects coming up with a new house full of TONS of windows so that is where my time will be spent in the near future. Maybe I will post some of that when I get to that point! Hope you had a wonderful Mom's Day!

Mother's Day Gifts

Just found out on Sunday that Mother's Day is next week. I have not had time to keep up with those things lately so this one caught me by surprise - especially since I have to mail mine to the east coast. So, I quickly scrambled to find something to make and came up with these cute tissue box covers. I didn't do any stamping on them...just covered them with designer papers. The directions can be found in the resources section on Splitcoaststampers. They go together rather quickly too so that's always a plus for me! I will show you another one tomorrow - hopefully!

2 posts in one day after ZERO posts in 2 months - pretty awesome, don't you think!!! I just realized I got an award for my blog while I have been away! Thank you, Kate! You are wonderful! I need to disclose 8 things about me that you probably don't know! HMMM...that is a tough one but here I go:
1. I DO NOT like moving! This was my 18th move and it doesn't get any easier with experience!!!
2. I love to cook! Baking is one of my passions but spending time in the kitchen is as enjoyable as spending time in my craftroom!
3. I love dogs but I HATE dogs that shed hair all over my house!!! Both of my kids have dogs that shed hair and it drives me crazy when they are here. I spend HOURS cleaning my house when they leave! I guess that is one way to get my house clean!!!
4. I love to spend time in craft stores, fabric stores and cooking stores. I would rather do that than shop for clothing!!! Maybe it has something to do with the fact that my body isn't as easy to fit as it used to be!!! My tall and slender days are gone!!!
5. My favorite color is purple. I even had a purple room when I was young - and LOVED it!
6. I am not a computer geek!!! I can do "MY" basic things on the computer and that is it.
7. I grew up in NC and don't really miss it! I never knew how bad the humidity was there until I left. I don't miss it at all!!!
8. My favorite food is PASTA! I could eat it everyday. I like it served most any way possible!!! I love pasta casseroles and pasta salads. Yum, yum!!! I've even made a pasta dessert!!!

The second part of this award is to pass it on to 8 other blogs. I will have to do that another time since this is really taking a lot of time that I don't have right now! But, thanks again to Kate for her thoughfulness!

I'M BACK!!!

Can you believe it!!! It's been over 2 months since I last posted. We moved to Colorado and it has taken much longer for me to unpack than I ever dreamed. I must say that my craft room has been the toughest part. I still have several boxes left but considering there were over 50 boxes...that's not too bad. My craft room is in the attic over a 2 car garage. The walls go up to a point so it makes it hard to put furniture against the walls since you lose so much of it by being tall and bumping your head on the ceiling all the time. There are no closets or any storage space so it has been a HUGE challenge for me. My work is cut out for me for a LONG TIME! My hubby built me several cabinets and a HUGE table for the center of the room with lots of storage beneath so that has been a big help. BUT, I just have too much stuff! I'm SLOWLY getting there. I get frustrated with it very quickly so can't work on it more than a few hours at a time.

SO>>>>here is a card I made before we moved. The stamp is a Unity Stamp. I printed our new address for the inside. It was rather quick and easy. I hope to get back into the swing of things soon so stay tuned!

Armadillo Birthday

Wow...what a crazy few weeks it has been! We found a home in Colorado that we are in the process of buying. We absolutely love it. We are beginning the stressful task of the loan process and it can be very tough when your hubby is a pilot in the sky! Papers can't get signed as fast as they like. So, you can imagine the stress it puts on me when the bank wants something they should have sent us 2 days ago (when he was home) and they want it now. We managed to get through this week and get all the contract paperwork signed and delivered. Now we have to wait for them to sign and deliver to our bank to start the loan processing. As they take their good ole time...interest rates rise. So, that doesn't make us too happy. And Monday is a holiday. So, we will start all over on Tuesday and pray they have signed and delivered or we will start dealing with timeline issues for closing. What a nightmare but I hear it's the norm these days so we just have to accept it and pray for the best outcome.
So, this is a card I made a few weeks ago while I had time and knew it needed to get done. It's the cutest stamp and perfect for the recipient! It's a Dead Beat Designs stamp and it's colored with Copics. It is framed with a Nestie and distressed around the edges. I added a snip of twine to jazz it up a bit. The paper is a bandanna print and I couldn't tell you who makes it. I used my Home Pro to attach the stars in the corners - too cute!
I'm not sure how many more postings I will be doing before I close shop until after the move. I don't think I will be packing until Mid-March but time will tell. I will not have any desks for awhile after we move - until my hubby can make them for me. So, life will be at a standstill for awhile but I promise I will be back so hang in there!

Happy Valentine's Day!

I wish everyone a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! It is always a fun time to make cards and I know when I was a little girl that I always looked forward to V-day and choosing the perfect valentine for each of my classmates. It's even more fun when you can make that special card for each of your friends. So, this is another that I made for a special crafting friend. The image is not especially Valentinesy (my word!) but it works for me. The adorable little doggie looks just like my Muffy did and my friend also has a dog that looks like this so it was perfect for her as well. It's a Stampavie stamp and is colored with Copics. The sentiment is another $1 Michael's stamp. The white trim under that is a Bazzill trim that you can purchase in a package of many different designs. The image is cut with a Nestie.
Hope you have a wonderful day. We don't usually go out on Valentine's Day but I usually cook a special dinner for my hubby. I made a Coconut Cream Pound cake for dessert tomorrow and it's killing me to have to smell it while it bakes!!! I will serve strawberries with it. Got to get that touch of Valentine Red in the meal!

Lacy Hearts

It's Superbowl Sunday and I really have no interest in either team this year so I thought I would try to post another card I made. This is about as easy as it gets!!! I punched three hearts and mounted them on cardstock! There are some cute glittery pearls between and checked ribbon bows on the ends!
We are on our way back to Colorado tomorrow to look at a home. We hope to put an offer on it and be the lucky winners. It's a beautiful foreclosure home that was recently listed and I'm hoping we will be the owners of it! Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!
